I just saw this movie today & all I can say is, it lived up to what I heard, I heard it was disturbing, it was freaky & in that context..... it was afective, I watched it & I liked it but it was too much, even for me, this is the first horror movie that I actually turned off before it ended, thats how disturbing it was. I didn't find that movie very enjoyable to watch. I don't know after I finished watching it I was thinking about it. It was disturbing, but it wasn't 'fun' disturbing. I didn't enjoy watching those girls get tortured throughout most of the movie.

I agree with you DIGNAN!! It was really, really, really disturbing and that's exacly why it wasn't enjoyable. Except that I have to say that the plot was pretty stupid and most of the actors were pretty bad!!!

By the way I would like to know if anyone here have any idea of what happen to the young little girl! The first we saw in the shower. I think her name is Sandra Cassel but I'm not quite sure. I would not be surprised if she would have end up in therapy. Anyway It's just that she touch me really deeply and I would apreciate if you guys can tell me what happend to her.

Not all moves are happy happy joy joy
yes it was disturbing and no you were not meant to enjoy watching it is more to set you in your place. But that is more a general description of shock movies

Although LHOTL is not really the best example of this type of movie

The movie is genuinely disturbing, but also genuinely terrible. Very ameteurish! All I was thinking while watching was how much better this flick could have been.

I thought that this film was pointless, boring, ineffective, and with one of the worst soundtracks i have ever heard.

Avoid this piece of crap !!! don't watch this , please.
This is a must - avoid flick.
Sorry but I don't appreciate this flick from Craven.
I like the documentary look, especially at the beginning when the girls at in town and in the house and in the forrest but that's all.
Rent Real Killers from Mendez ( The Convent )or Funny Games ( Hanneke ) instead of this garbage.

Its reputation is better than the film itself, but I have caught my friends off gaurd and they couldn't sit through it.
Wasn't the 70' atmosphere painful to watch. That music while the girls were getting ice cream? Ughh.
David Hess scares me. Really.
But, if you look past its bad points, you can see the attempts to amuse. In no way was this film enjoyable, unless you count mutilation, rape, and torture your bag of candy.
The best parts came when the mom and dad, who reeek of soap opera acting, cut loose on Weasel, Sadie, and Krug.
The songs by Hess are surprisingly sad, and alternately bad. Watch for Mary's death and the song playing behind it.
