Well, I am going to officially designate this as the thread where we talk about the television specials that will be airing for TTT in the coming months. If you have word of one, post it here. Like I am about to.

WB To Air TTT 'Behind-The-Scenes' Soon!
Xoanon @ 7:00 pm EST

Engwar writes: I just wanted to make everyone aware of a LOTR:TTT special that The WB will be airing in December (sounds similar to the FOX special from last year, except that this one will run for 60 min). Below is the text of the press release.

The WB is thrilled to announce that we have secured an exclusive behind-the-scenes, preview special for the year's most anticipated film: "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.' This one-hour special is scheduled for air on December 4th in the 8:00 pm time period.

"Return to Middle-Earth" follows the 'Rings' celebrated cast as they come back together in New Zealand to shoot additional footage for the upcoming film "The Two Towers." Each cast member gives their personal take on the arduous three-year shoot and what they took away from this historic film making experience.

The first chapter in the "Rings' trilogy grossed over $900 million dollars worldwide and became a pop culture phenomenon. The WB and Turner immediately procured the broadcast window to all three films and just like the "Rings" films are a perfect fit for The WB audience, so too is the special.

Viewers will get a chance to know the cast as all members are interviewed, including Ian McKellan, Elijah Wood, Liv Tyler, Orlando Bloom (winner of 'Breakthrough Performance' at this year's MTV Movie Awards for 'Rings') and Viggo Mortensen. The WB audience will also be treated to multiple world premiere clips from 'The Two Towers,' including an extended look at the films' climactic battle scene.

There will probably be at least three of these, as well as several more featurettes that will be added to the website, because when they release it on the DVD they have to have the extras that the extended version doesn't want.

I was quite disappointed with the FOTR telly specials. I did like the one on the Sci-Fi Network, but the rest were pure fluff, or 100% light promotional crap like the FOX one. I hope the WB makes a good one. LOTR deserves the best.

What got me into LotR was the Fox special (though it was very brief) and it peaked my interest in something that I was not familiar with and so I decided to check out the film because of that.

Well looking forward to the WB one seeing as it's going to an hour long. I'll def. tape that one. Can't wait for that 'climatic battle scene'

Since TTT is drawing closer, I think this thread deserves a bump.

Just caught something very embarrasing on TV last night...

As I was watching the 10 o'clock news last night(on WB Ch.5), they had a little segment on TTT and some school kids getting to watch it for free if they read the book(lucky bastards), well when the anchor woman was reading her cue cards(or monitor), she recited: "Lord of the Rings: The Twin Towers!!. I was horrified to say the least. My sis next to me assured me that that's in everybodys conscious to say that what with the past tragedy and all.

When DirectTV was showing The Fellowship of the Ring for PPV, they had a special look at TTT put in with the purchase. The guide for the film read "....And get a sneak the next Lord of the Rings film, The Twin Towers".

Just watched the WB special. It was very interesting. The whole cast and crew seemed to have a lot of fun while working in New Zealand. I liked when they showed the making of Sean Astin's short movie. I did like the preview they showed, although the wargs didn't look too real, but kind of cartoonish... (But no film has ever had a realistic scene of that nature so I can't be harsh)

Dom Monaghan and Billy Boyd absolutely MUST host or guest host or SOMETHING an awards show. The short bit following them around in Wellington was hysterical. They're such a lovable duo of jagoffs.

I agree the wargs weren't perfect, but not bad either. I think the problem is the cgi hasn't progressed enough when you have cgi characters riding a cgi creature, especially in daylight. AOTC FOTR and HP all have had a few of these type scenes.

...that scene on the WB special, the Warg attack, it wasn't complete. The score wasn't present, and people who have actually seen the film, said the color shading was different, and the special-effects were better (concerning the Wargs).
