Today i started reading my Mega Huge Robert Crumb coffe table book I bought about 6 months ago. I forgot how twisted his stuff can get. The comics grab my attention though and pull me in with some sort of odd intrigue.

His warped view of the world if funny, sad, and makes me feel uncomfortable all at once.

I've always been meaning to read his stuff, but haven't gotten to it yet. I saw the documentary about him awhile back, and it was exactly like you said: funny, sad, and disturbing. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it. It's either called "Crumb" or "R.Crumb" ,I believe.

I own that bad boy but its hard for me to watch because it really disturbs me. Its done by the same director as Ghost world by the way ghost world fans if your looking for more work by that director.

Is that guys family ultra-screwed or just abnormal? Crumb was an excellent documentary on his life and work. He can be offsetting at some points, but he's a brilliant artist, storyteller and social satirist.

No thats Johnny the homicidal maniac. Which by the way is a horror lovers dream by jhonnen Vasquez (I think thats his name). Its amazing stuff along with his other comic character squee. Romero rent the Movie Crumb. i guarantee you won't be let down. its the best biopic I have ever seen and its got David Lynch presents on the cover to help lure you in. Much creepeir than most horror... trust me.

I've actually heard about the movie.. it has something to do with ghost world, I think.. in which case I HAVE check it out!!!

Johnny the Homocidal maniac doesn't really ring a bell. the guy I'm talking about had an alphabet book, but each letter was a kid dying a different way.. Damn, I wish I could remember the name..
