Barry Pepper is one of my favorite actors these days. I think his best performances are:

1. 61*
2. Saving Private Ryan
3. We Were Soldiers (although I didn't care much for the movie)

He was great in Saving Private Ryan...I'm always surprised(and glad) to see him in so many movies w/o ever knowing that he was in it in the first place..I've grown to love his acting ever since I saw him in SPR...Boy he was in a lot of war movies

ps I didn't like that one scene in We Were Soldiers where he was taking photos amidst the chaos around him and he is compelled to take photos of his dying mates...it was towards the end of the movie...I thought it was really corny :o I guess they were trying to go for that emotional imagery but it didn't work for me.

Yeah, that was one of my least favorite parts of that movie, it was quite corny. Bad direction, I think.

Yeah, I loved him in Saving Private Ryan. A very powerful role. And a fucking powerful movie. He was also great in We Were Soldiers. I like the idea of the whole: photographer on the front line thing. Powerful as well.

Yet to see him in other roles. And I don't think I'll be seeing Knockaround Guys. But I hear it's okay. From the 24 people that saw it.

So far, he was pretty good in everything he's ever done, even Battlefield Earth. In fact, his performance was one of that movie's few saving graces.
