So here's the Question:
Did your opinion of Keanu change after you saw THE MATRIX. Why, how, in what ways?
Mine did, I guess. I never respected Keanu before The Matrix. Then I saw him in it. I had just a teeny bit more respect for him. Saw his range as an actor. Not just a person talking on screen.
I still don't like him much, just, more than I did before THE MATRIX.

I loved him Point Break, and that was maybe it before The Matrix. But i think he still did a good job acting in the Matrix. It's not like i couldn't watch it b/c he sucked like some people act. He did fine. And i'm sure he's gonna be good in the next two

I haven't seen many of his inferior movies except Speed, which was very good. I liked his performance, but since TM, he hasn't really done much of interest

I haven't seen a whole lot of Keanu Reeves movies (a good thing?), but when I first saw Speed I really enjoyed the movie and his performance was great. So just for that awesome movie going experience, I don't have any beef with the guy, and he's not as bad an actor as most believe (Okay, I admit, he's pretty bad, but not THAT bad...)

I was so anti-Keanu I refused to see Matrix when it was in the theater. Only a friend w/similar taste in film convinced me to look past the guy who delivered "I... am an FBI agent" and "No, Brodie, put the gun down... but I love her" so pittifully in Point Break to see what is now one of my fav flicks!!!
We'll see how he does in Reloaded -- in much of the first, he played someone oblivious to reality -- probably as much of a stretch as Courntey Love playing a Junkie in People VS Larry Flint!!!
Nope, I still think he's a moron.

I have always liked Keanu, He makes a hell of an action hero. BUT
I can't get past the whole "Bill and Ted" thing.

And what are your reason for that?

Evidently, it's not at the top of his 10 of all time list

No real serious reason, just that, "Bill and Ted" was the first movie I had seen him in, and I saw it like a hundred times before I saw him in anything else. So now whenever I see him, "Bill and Ted" is what I think about.
Kind of like How When people went to see "The Truman show" and Jim Carrey in a serious and Brilliant (Oscar- nomination worthy, in my opinion)role, alot of people had trouble taking him seriously because for a long time all everybody saw him do was talk from his ass and such.
Nothing against Keanu, he's a hell of an actor.
And The Matrix IS on my top FIVE of all time list.

I watched Speed last night. It's actually been a while since I've seen it. But my oh my did Keanu rule! He's acting was superb, and he knew how to be an action hero.
