According to thearnoldfans.com, MGM is planning on making a special box set containing both the special editions of Terminator and Terminator 2. They will probably release it shortly before T3 opens. What do you think about this ?

thats coolas long as they dont pull some shit like "if you buy this special box set, you will also recieve a free bonus disk about the TERMINATOR movies, including over 2 hours of behind the scenes of TERMINATOR 3, all available in this deluxe box set"!!

i already have both terminator special editions. i wonder if the ppl who buy the box set will get screwed out of the bad ass packaging. well i guess they will keep the cardboard sleeve, i bought T2 when it first came out so i have the bad ass metal sleeve!

TheArnoldFans.Com reports that the Terminator films are going to be reissued again on DVD in conjunction with Terminator 3:

Next year, just before the Rise of the Machines, MGM Home Entertainment will release an all new DVD special edition boxset containing both T1 and T2.
Although this set will not become available until a date close to T3's release, we tried to get some info from MGM.

MGM: "At this time, I'm not sure of the title of the Terminator gift set. Our creative team will begin discussing the layout and title early next year. It will definitely be a two-disc set."

got that from COMINGSOON.net

so it is just gonna be a 2 disk set, sounds to me like it is the current special editions in a new box set, T2 will be the DVD 18 version! (which i am happy i got the 2 disk version n not the 18 one).

if they try and improve on the disks that are currently out, they are gonna have to have their heads examined... T2 ultimate is considered by many to seriously be the ULTIMATE DVD of all time!! and the original TERMINATOR is also one kik ass spec ed!

The only way they can improve upon them is by having JAMES CAMERON and Arnold Schwarzenneger commentaries on both discs, (not like the edited interviews on T2)

Id like to see this DVD come out, some of the special features could be deleted scenes, the alternate ending, 2 comentaries, making of T1 and T2, storyboards, trailers I can just go on and on forever.

What do you mean by DVD 18 version? As far as this box set is concerned I see it as nothing more than a repackaging of the existing T1+T2 DVDs to add to the hype of T3. And like it has already been mentioned they'll probably stick with the cheap cardboard case for T2.

Cool. The Terminator series are some of the best sci-fi's and action films ever made and I would not mind owning a kick-ass box set of 'em.
