Simple. What do you think will be the best of the new trilogies? All of them have at least one out of the gate. I know the Terminator series is kind of old, but the third isn't out to complete the trilogy yet. Since it counts to me I'll take the Terminator series, followed closely by LOTR and The Matrix trilogies.
Sorry if I left out something. Those were the only choices I could think of at the time.

I don't think Terminator can count as a new trilogy since the first one came out 18 years ago which means that Die Hard is a newer trilogy. Anyway it was a very tough call between Lord of the Rings and The Matrix, but I had to go with Lord of the Rings.

I went with The Matrix. It was close with The Lord of the Rings, but there's just something about the first Matrix that every time I watch it, I figure something new out. It's an amazing movie and I know that I'll love the sequels.

I'd count it because the third hasn't been released yet to complete the trilogy, even if the first one was released awhile ago. Die Hard's third film was completed back in '95, so it doesn't count as a 'new' trilogy, that being one that will be completed in the future, which is the entire idea behind this thread.

The Matrix will probably be mine. If the next two are as good/ better than the first, then definately.

It was a tough for me to choose between "Spiderman" and LOTR. I went with LOTR in the end.

I've got to say, although it's a damn close call, I'm going with Star Wars. I am a huge fan of LOTR (isn't everyone?), and I know had you not included SW, that definitly would have been my first choice. But Star Wars goes way back. Always action-packed and thought provoking, it's timeless. However, I do hope Lucas learns to write a script by episode three. Or at least hands the job over to someone qualified. I'll have you know, I won't sit back and watch while he butchers what will most likely be the last SW movie, considering 7, 8 and 9 probably won't ever be made.
P.S.- Yoda kicks ass!

Im voting for Spider-Man. Thats because You have:
1) Green Goblin
2) Dr. Octopus
3) Either Green Goblin #2 and somebody or Venom

from what we got out of fellowship of the ring, i think it's safe to say that it's starting to make its way into the best trilogies list. there is no doubt in my mind that the two towers will be awesome!

How can anyone possibly form an honest opinion?
These trilogy's have yet to be completed.
It's like saying what do you like the taste of more: Roast Beef or Roast Unicorn?

Star Wars... Empire... Jedi... triology... hello?
But I digress. I don't like any of them on a whole. Jedi sucked ass, so that one's out. Ep1 and 2 were crap, so those are out. LotR was terrible (and 2 isn't even out yet), so that's out. Matrix 2 isn't out til next year, so again, that one's gone. Terminator, well, 1 was good, 2 was okay, and 3 ain't out til, what 2003/4?
I know this is "NEW", but, I'd go with one's not listed...
Die Hard - First one kicks ass. Second was good. Third was really good.
Godfather - First one's the best, 2 is good, and 3 is good.
A Better Tomorrow - First one's great, second one's amazing, and the third one, while a letdown, is still good.
Police Story - First is a classic. Second is as good, almost better then the first, and the third (HK version) is also great. (I don't count First Strike as an actual "Police Story" movie, cause Jackie doesn't).

Did I miss something. I haven't heard anything to the effect that Spider-Man will be a trilogy. Also, there can and probably will be 7 Harry Potter movies.

I think the idea is kind of getting lost here. This is an upcoming movie topic, but you can't post polls in that forum, so it's in here. And it deals with trilogies that have yet to be completed. The original Star Wars trilogy, Die Hard, or The Godfather don't count because they're already done. And I'm not asking what will be the best, but what you think will be the best, judging by the way things are going with the films that are already released.
