I'm almost done reading the second of Tolkien's epic trilogy, and I must say it's a much more enthralling read than Fellowship. I'm really looking forward to the movie come December. What does everybody think of the second volume of the classic trilogy? And which book of the series do you like the best? Soon getting Return of the King...

My favorite book of the trilogy is The Two Towers. The book is a million times better than The Fellowship of the Ring... and FOTR was an excellent book. TTT is much more exciting and intriguing to read. Also, the best thing about TTT, is that it's much more character-driven than the first book.
Anyway, this is what I love about TTT. And if the movie's as good as the book, everybody's in for an ass-kicking flick!!! :D

I love the books, but the movies are much more epic. I don't know, maybe it's just the fact that LOTR is a very, very tough read, it somehow kills the rythm of the story. That said, I love the universe, I love the books (RETURN OF THE KING is my personal fave), and I agree TTT is great.

Some parts of TTT drag on a bit, but it has a hell of an ending!

You're right. I did find that some parts dragged on. However, it's nothing compared to the boring segments of Fellowship. And you're also right about the ending. I personally can't wait to see how ****SPOILERS**** Shelob ****END SPOILERS**** translates to the big screen.
