This is technical crap. Please help me out. I am signing up to write DVD reviews for a website. They need to know the following things and I need to ask you guys what's going on:

1) What gauge of wiring do I use?
How do I find this out?

2) What is S-Video?

3) Difference between optical and coax? Also, what brands are good?

4) Calibration Practices?
What is calibration? What is an SPL meter?

Schmoes, you have to help me out with this. I e-mailed the guy once and if I do it again wondering what he's talking about, he'll know I'm somewhat of an amateur.

All I know is S-Video stands for Super Video. A Super Video cable is a cable that some TV's and some DVD players support that makes the picture even more clearer and crisper.

Since we're all using the web the fastest way to get answers in my opinion would be jump to www.google.com just search those terms with it... don't really that much about tthat stuff to say anything precise.
