I have been wanting to see The Weight Of Water for sometime. It has been delayed numerous times and was actually filmed in late 1999. On a side note, the film was shot here in good ole Nova Scotia.
The Weight of Water is based on the novel by Anita Shreve. The film is directed by Kathryn Bigelow and stars Sean Penn, Catherine McCormack, Elizabeth Hurley, Josh Lucas, Vinessa Shaw, and Sarah Polley.
Synopsis (from movies.yahoo.com) : A photojournalist (McCormack) and her husband (Penn) sail to a New Hampshire island over the course of a weekend, accompanied by her brother-in-law (Lucas), and his girlfriend (Hurley). The purpose of the trip is to investigate the murders of two Scandinavian immigrants there in 1873. The story alternates between the present and the past (Polley plays the only survivor of the incident, whose memoirs form the basis of the story).
The film has not received the greatest of reviews, but I still want to see it. It's playing in Limited Release right now.
What are your guys' thoughts and/or reviews on the flick?
