As I stated in an earlier post I rented a few movies late last week on of which was:
SPOILERS ********** SPOILERS *********** SPOILERS**********
Aquarius (1987): AKA as, Stage Fright or Deliria. Directed by Michele Soavin and among the writing credits George Eastman (Damato fans should know who he is...)
The Plot: A group of has been or never will be dancers are doing a musical number called The Night Owl, which is about a murder/rapist who where an owl mask. Once of the dancers hurts her ankle and her friend takes her to the nearest hospital which happens to be holding a psycho killer.
The killer escapes his cell and hides in the dancer's car when she returns to the sound studio, he proceeds to dice them up.
Comments/Opinion: I don't know if I would consider this a standard Slasher or giallo, there is never any doubt who the killer is, like in most giallos.
I loved this movie I had a strange sense of deja vu the whole time I was watching it and near the end when our heroine is looking at the stage I realized that I saw this movie many years ago.
The killer uses a nice array of weapons: knife, axe, chainsaw, power drill.
I think my only complaint about the movie is most of the characters seemed a little weak.
I'd rate this movie 7/10
