Plot: From the Academy Award nominated team that brought you Jimmy Neutron, comes the first-ever 3D holiday IMAX film, Santa Vs. The Snowman. Santa vs. The Snowman tells the story of a lonely Snowman who at first is swept away by the magical wonders of Santa's Village, only to ultimately wage war on Santa because he's jealous of all the attention Santa gets during Christmas time. An epic-scale polar war develops. The hilarious battle features such holiday defence mechanisms as hot chocolate squirt guns, giant Igloo Robot Walkers and even a 50-foot tall toy soldier manned by Santa himself.

This IMAX film opened on 11/1/02 and I was wondering if anyone has seen it. Steve Oedekerk(Kung Pow!) is involved and I think he is hilarious and I really want to know what this film is like. It looks very funny and original. Its probably a fun Christmas film. Does anyone know anything?

Slightly off-topic, after seeing several regular IMAX (although there ain't nuthin regular bout 'em) movies then finally experiencing my very first 3D movie I am a believer in this medium! I thought at first it would be like those crummy red and green glasses things, but hell was I wrong. There was a trailer for IMAX cartoons 3D and when I saw that cartoony A just dancing in front of my eyes I was like WHOA, think of the potential.
Anyway back to the topic, just for the reason alone this is an IMAX 3D movie I'll see it :D

I really want to see this before Christmas. With the omni-theater over here showing only National Geographic-type stuff, it would be nice to see something silly and cute on the seemingly endless screen.

I "REALLY REALLY" want to see this... I don't have an IMAX theater anywhere near me, the closest one is around 3 or more hours away. I've only been to one once, but it was an amazing experience. I'd love to go to the IMAX theater again sometime. I wish they had one closer to where I live.

SANTA VS. SNOWMAN sounds funny and original, and the animation looks pretty neat. I imagine this will be coming to DVD eventually, but I haven't heard anything about it yet. I know I'd definitely rent it, even though it still wouldn't be the same as seeing it at the IMAX. I'm just afraid that they will wait until around Thanksgiving/Christmas time to release it on DVD, because a lot of people might not be in the mood to watch it during the summer. I can definitely understand that, but I really want to see it, and I know I'd rent it right away, no matter when it came out. DAMN, I wish I had an IMAX theater around here.

Did anyone see it? Was it good?

That almost reminds me of the very first "South Park" short when Jesus and Santa got locked into mortal combat. Funny stuff!:)
