I have a tape for this very thing...it stops me having to go back and forward, trying to find something decent. I mean, you don't want to be getting into a groove and then The Prodigy come on and your trying to keep time at 180bpm, do you?

Anyway, the tape is made up from old Verve records (not the band The Verve, the record company) and includes lots of early Nina Simone. There are also lots of Al Green, Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, Jackie Wilson, etc on there. As for the single best song for the deed...I'm actually quite partial to:

yes! This was the band I was going to mention before I opted to set myself up for a lashing. She Hangs Softly (is that the title) and So That Tonight I May See are both very nice. So That Tonight.... may be my favorite of the two. This was my senior year staple.



AIR is good too, but Moon Safari, not 10,000 hertz unless you want to hear robot voices while your at it.
