I sing along to practically everything if it's singable...that's in a addition to my air-drumming and air-guitar. I could almost put on some sort of a freak show.
Some favorite singers/bands I sing along to though are:
Freddie Mercury (Queen)
Geoff Tate (Queensryche)
ABBA
The Beatles
Foreigner
Heart
Alice in Chains

Why thank you, Grebdron. I'm liking you more every day too. ;)
Freddie Mercury was simply one of a kind. Incredible voice, incredible showman. And Geoff Tate I like to sing along to because he's such a challange. You know how at the very end of Eye of the Needle he sings
naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaameeeeeeee...
I swear, he holds that note out for about 30-40 seconds. I've frequently turned blue trying to sing along with that. :)

This song really shows off his vocal range. (He's got an 8 octave range.) The last concert I saw before I went into the Army in 1986 was Queensryche and AC/DC. Queensryche was so good, and AC/DC so bad that people were actually booing AC/DC. They sounded like shit, and Geoff Tate was absolutely incredible.

AC/DC and Queensryche in the same concert? That sounds like my dream line-up. I've never seen either in concert. :(
Which is your favorite Queensryche album, Greb? I'm torn between Operation Mindcrime and Rage for Order. Empire is quite good too, the boys started to settle down a bit in that one though.

I just can't help SINGING along to these little bastards...
BadCoverVersion,
I can sing THERE GOES A TENNER by Kate Bush in almost perfect pitch, AND love to ramble along with GET OUT OF MY HOUSE and every song off THE DREAMING.
Wuthering Heights is hard to sing, though.
GLORIA by L. Brannigan, its fun to sing because its soooo 80's. Songs about needy women are great to sing.
Pulp- THIS IS HARDCORE
It has Seductive Barry and Dishes on it. Common People is a catchy ditty. Slyvia, too.
James- Anything by James is good to belt out.
Leonard Cohen, anything. But the really slow ones.
"Take this Waltz" and "Closing Time" are cool. "the Future" is great to repeat. REPENT!
The Smith's- PLEASE LET ME GET WHAT I WANT, THIS CHARMING MAN
Siousxie and the Banshees- PLAYGROUND TWIST
Meatloaf- "Paradise by the Dashboard Light", "You Took The Words Right Out of My Mouth"
David Bowie- "China Girl", "Oh You Pretty Things", "Andy Warhol"
Roxy Music- "Avalon", "Slave to Love" (I know its Brian Ferry, but still), Virginia Plain, "Mother of Pearl"
Talking Heads- "Road To Nowhere", "Psychokiller"
Elvis Costello-"Watching the Detectives"
Dion- "The Wanderer", "Rounaround Sue"
Bobby Darrin- "Beyond the Sea", "Mack the KNife"(I can even do the extended Towwwnnnnnnnnn at the end)
U2- "Even Better than The Real THing", All I want is you, The Fly, Far Away (So Close), THE REFUGEE
Tom Petty- American Girl, Breakdown, Last Dance with Mary Jane
Alice Cooper- The Man Behind the Mask, Welcome to my NIghtmare(all of it)
Donna Summer- McArthur Park (don't stone me!), Bad Girls
Johnny Horton- Honky Tonk Man, The Battle of New Orleans, Johnny Reb. I am sad.
Duran Duran- Ordinary World, The Reflex, Wild Boys, hell anyhting even Winter Marches On, and Skin Trade
The Postmaster General
12-05-2002, 11:45 AM
Gloria - LOL! My friends laugh with me when I perform a very overdramatized accoustic version of that song.
I also do a pretty weird version of "Call Me' by Blonde.
In fact, I have sort of a reputation for taking 80s female vocal songs and turning them into utter weirdness.
Some songs that always get me singing -
"Too Much Time On My Hands" - Styx
"Fresh Prince of Bel Air" - Will Smith
"Something in the Way" - Nirvana
"Ring of Fire" - Johnny Cash
"Paul Revere" - Beastie Boys
"Drive" - REM
"Pinball Wizard" - The Who
And this was the first song to come into my head when asked what I sing along to, but I see that it's already been mentioned quite often, so all I'm going to say is.....
......Leonard Bernstein!....

Lady Summerisle...
Seriously, "Wuthering Heights" is one of the only songs I can actually sing on karaoke...and I do a mean version. Its my party trick, and I usually impress...;)
I also do a pretty decent version of "Gloria", but it does get slightly strained when I hit the "Ah-ha-ha, Ah-ha-ha Gloria..." bit! Shame really, its a great one for a boogie!
You've got some great picks there love...I'm a sucker for "Party Hard" on "This is Hardcore"...The video is bloody great...Jarvis surrounded by a group of cheerleaders with funky dog T-Shirts. I bought a beagle one at the last concert, it's my pride and joy!
I completely forgot "Watching the Detectives" and "Runaround Sue"...Soooo great for a mindless singalong! You can't beat a bit of "Meatloaf" though...I go to town with "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" (an EPIC tune), I get the white hanky out and everything...bloody marvellous stuff!
"Do you love me?
Will you love me forever?
Do you need me?
Will you never leave me?
Will you make me so happy for the rest of my life?
Will you take me away and will you make me your wife?"
Oooooh so good!

American Girl - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers (Silence of the Lambs, anyone? Anyone?)

I agree with you on My Way, Ralph. There's nothing quite like snarling along to Sid Vicious.
Lately I've been singing along to Millonaire by Queens Of The Stoneage.............yes it hurts my throat.

Oh....My....God.
In 1814 we took a little trip
along with Colonel Jackson down the mighty Mississip
We took a little bacon and we took a littel bean
And we fought the bloody British in a town in New Orleans
We fired our guns and the British kept 'a comin
There wasn't as many as there was a while ago
We fired once more and they began to running
along the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico
I can't believe someone else likes Johnny Horton. GREAT singalong stuff!!

That's great it starts with an earthquake...
