Extreme - III Sides To Every Story. The 3rd side is equal in beauty to anything Queen ever put out. Awesome album! Not to mention clever tunes like Rest In Peace, Peacemaker Die, Cupid's Dead, Our Father, Tragic Comic, and Stop The World

Extreme - Waiting For The Punchline - Exquisite guitar playing on this one chaps!

Nuno - Schizophonic - You at once call yourself cool AND a music lover and you haven't listened to this one!?!?? Karmalaa is worth the price of admission alone!

Mourning Widows - s/t - Holy shit Batman!

Saigon Kick - Water - Brilliant album!! The songs run the whole gamut. You7 know how you can listen to a whole Linkin Park cd and think that alot of the songs sound the same and you feel like an ass for having to like this to be cool without really getting anything out of the music? Spin this album in your cd player and listen to what Staind, Linkin Park, and Nickelback do not have! Cool music!!

Saigon Kick - THe Lizard - Metallica with clever hooks and better voices!

Saigon Kick - Devil In THe Details - wow!

Shudder To Think - Pony Express Album - Wow!! Talk about NOT following any musical formula, being wholly original, and churning out some of the coolest tunes in the past 30 years. Eclectic is the order of the day.

Shudder To Think - 50,000 B.C - A little less obscure than the former and a little more accessible. Listen to "Hop On One Foot" for the coolest riff since Zeppelin's "Black Dog"

XTC - Oranges and Lemons - catchy! and original

Black Crowes - 3 snakes and One Charm - Thought The Black Crowes would never get better than their remake of "Hard To Handle?" Thought they were just some Southern rock band? THis album shows that they are far more than that!!

Black Crowes - Amorica - Excellent to listen to on a rainy, fall afternoon. The guys cooked up some magic on this one. Really!!

Are you tired of music these days? Is it starting to dawn on you that Staind, Nickelback, P.O.D., Linkin Park, Papa Roach, and the like, are just a bunch of poser, loser, untalented bands that leave you a little empty inside and that your reason for liking the bands have less to do with "music" than with "image?" Had it with MTV and Top 10 radio controlling the music you listen to? Yeah? Then start with these gems I have listed here in my thread. You can't go wrong with these recommendations!!! Enjoy!!

I know that they get alot of respect from the music world, as well as the hip hop world, but I think "A Tribe Called Quest" ( Who happens to be my favorite group now and forever) is a very underrated group. I know everybody knows who they are, but they released five albums over the past ten years, (their last album being arguably one of the best hip hop albums ever.) and none of them have gone further than gold. That to me means that they only had a small group of fans that bought their albums, every time one was released. Everyone else just vibed off the stuff that they put on radio, and missed all of the other great music contained on the albums that weren't released into the mainstream. Tribe is rap in it's purest form, and is one of raps' greatest yet underrated groups.

GREAT call on amorica.. The Black Crowes were one of my first loves and Amorica is the one that will ALWAYS be playing long after I lose interest in the rest of their stuff.... and what's worse is that this was generally VERRY poorly recieved (along with three snakes, which was pretty blah, imo..).. I honestly dont get it.. as soon as GnR fades out, along with any interest in REAL RnR, people think that this shit is out..

My pick... THE GANDHARVAS...

A canadian band featuring some of the greatest musical minds to ever grace the toronto rock scene.. Three Brilliant albums with very little to show 'cept two minor hits in NA (The First Day Of spring and Downtime) and a couple of rehab. relapses for the lead singer, Paul Jago.. where are these fucking guys anyways? I've been waiting a loooong time for a follow up to their Sold For a Smile..

The Black Crowes have been underrated their whole career (like Lenny Kravitz, they're easily dismissed by smug rock critics).

XTC is one of the very best acts to come out of the late 70's British scene. Destined to be only a cult favorite here, alas.

Ah, A Tribe Called Quest. Hands down the coolest and most creative hip hop act ever. Midnight Marauders and The Low End Theory are honored members of my collection.

 *Keep Bouncing*

I must add: The Yardbirds. The fourth best act of the British Invasion (Behind The Beatles, The Who and The Rolling Stones, so...hardly bad to be fourth)

Hmm, I don't see how you can love Amorica, but think 3 Snakes was blah. 3 Snakes was the Yang to Amorica's Yin, but that psychedelic blues sound was still there before they lost it on the last 2 albums. I think Marc Ford added something to the band. But, Under A Mountain and Evil Eye just blows me away!

Belle & Sebastian, easily one of the most underrated bands around, and easily one of the must unfairly critisized bunches as well. Tigermilk and If You're Feeling Sinister are two nearly flawless albums...
