anyone else like this movie? i was very surprised to find mostly bad reviews of it on the imdb. i found it to be an entertaining and above-average horror film and one of the very few films that actually scared me a little bit when i was a kid. it seems people always have to find something to complain about: "the acting is wooden", "the writing is lame", "it's unoriginal", "it rips off poltergeist", blah blah blah. why are some people so anal about films? it seems like a lot of people watch movies just to analyze and find fault with them. instead of just relaxing and enjoying a film for what it is, they dwell on all these trivial technical issues. it's like the old saying: you can't see the forest for the trees.
some people will watch a comedy and then complain about how silly it is and how dumb the characters are, without ever realizing that it's a comedy and not supposed to be serious and dramatic. i know that when i watch a movie, it comes down to two things: either i'm entertained or i'm bored. if i'm bored, i just turn off the movie and forget about it. the last thing i want to do is spend my quality time writing a review on a movie i think is boring. i guess there's just a lot of neurotic, anal-retentive people in the world.

You might have better luck posting this in Past Horror Movies. It'll be moved there soon though.

(Oh yeah, and personally I hated Cameron's Closet.)

Well I guess I'll give a better reason why I don't like this movie. Since it's unfair to just say I don't like it. Okay here it is, I watched this movie to try and sit back and enjoy it, but I couldn't. It could've been just mindless entertaining fun, but they deluded it with a complex plot, which really made very little sense, and the ending really dissapointed me, I won't bother writing the end because I don't want to bother putting up spoiler warnings. So I'll just say that that a certain baddie was disposed of way to easily. Also did that kid remind you of the wizard kid in NOES 3 at the end? Or perhaps it's just me.

I saw this when I was very young, and I remember liking it then. Don`t remember much about it though.

And for the record, The Time sucked.

I bought the DVD (cheap) the other day. Wanted to watch Cameron's Closet again, for old times sake.

Let me tell you it still sucks :D

Even though I appreciate the bad cheese more now than I did back then ...

It's not really so-bad-so-good but somewhere up there. Dialogues are horrible, the special effects are ok / cheesy and the main "demon" was so bad I couldn't help but laugh.

If your brain asks for a night off, give this sucker a rent. Worth a giggle or two.
