Foo Fighters or Nirvana

I know some of you will say why bother comparing, and I know it's been done before, but I also want to say that I feel Dave Grohl has established himself in such a way seperate from Nirvana that in the end he will be remembered more as the Foo Fighters front man than Nirvana's drummer. As most other people, I listened to Nirvana before I listened to the Foos, but now I take a different spot. I prefer the Foo Fighters music in almost every way to Nirvana's. I find happiness in most of it save maybe the new album which is just filled with raw emotion; it is a new step for them. I also feel Nirvana is overrated, no matter how great they were. Now, who do you prefer and do you have objections to my statements. I am always open to different points of view, except when in a vulnerable state of mind, but that isn't now, so go ahead!

Foo Fighters are good but I see their work as uneven. i wasn't even realy a big fan until i saw them live. Hearing their music live sort of clicked something inside me and I appreciate some of theri music more now. Nothing beat singing monkey wrench with a fist waving in the air but.....

I personally think Dave Grohl is more thalented than Kurt ever was. I much prefer the FF's music to that of Nirvana. I was never a real fan of Nirvana.

I understand about how Nirvana was ground breaking and all that jazz but I just don't enjoy their music or think it's that great. As Greb said, Dave Grohl was the better part of Nirvana and is a very talented musician, more so than Kurt was IMO. He has done some great work with Foo Fighters. So, to answer your question, I think the Foo Fighters are a better band than Nirvana.

Foo Fighters' music is more diverse and complex, but I would feel immoral if I chose them over Nirvana. Jewbo, I think that the Foos would've happened with or without Nirvana. Even if Kurt didn't off himself, Dave would have branched out with a side project anyway. And if Nirvana never formed, grunge would have still owned MTV. It might have taken a tad longer, but there were plenty of other bands that would have done what Nirvana did if Nirvana hadn't have done it first. What in the fuck did I just type?

Gotta be the Foos, yeah Nirvana were groundbreaking etc. but I'm not a big fan, though I do really like the Foo Fighters.

Oh and Dave Grohl had strange strange hair when he was in Nirvana.... :D

I'm gonna say the foo fighters...I think dave is an awesome lead guy and shouldn't be held up in the back...nirvana was good..but the foo fighters are definatly better in my opinion....go dave!

No doubt that is NIRVANA better than Foo Fighters.

I have all the Foo Fighters cds, its a very good band, with its own style. Its an important point, and the other thing is that it didn't mantein the nirvana aspect. The music, the style, the stetic is different. I have been noticed that Foo Fighters is getting worse and worse, but it is yet a good band. First with the fantastic CD "The Color and The Shape". They couldn't start better, its a fantastic cd, one of the best cds i've ever listen to. After that, the others cds were getting worse, in my oppinion, the band have tryed to evolve, but the get all the prejudice for an reverse evolving.

Nirvana is one of my favorite band too. More than Foo Figthers of course. It has revoluted the world of music. You can hate very much nirvana, but you'll have to accept that is a page in the history of music. It has created an style, a manner of thinking, a religion for some ones. All Nirvana cds are fucking great, and the band has evolved not like FF, but it has evolved to a better style, to a better integrity. All it musics are pretty fantastic and unforgettable songs that helped the band to become a mark, a legend.
