Except for a few...mostly sad and pitiful.

I think it's a pretty good collection with a few exceptions (Scooby Doo, Jimmy Neutron). All in all, not too shabby.

What about it makes it sad and pitiful? What? No foreign flicks? Malcolm, please take the liberty and expose your great:rolleyes: collection.

It's a pretty good collection, with a few "WTF?" movies thrown in for bad measure, i.e. The Sixth Day and Scooby Doo.

While we're on rating our collections, can anyone bother to rate mine?

Scarface's collection is more similar to mine, but yours isn't bad either PorsheRacer. There is just more diversity in the second collection.

Both collections were just fine...I have a few from each of the two listed. I wouldn't say I was...I don't know, overwhelmed maybe, but they are not as bad as Malcolm implied. Mine is somewhat over-cerebral (I'd kill myself rather than purchase something as asinine as FATF or Charlie's Angels - sorry) but that's just me - and explains why few of my friends ever bother my collection on a saturday night.

P.S. I would list mine but I'm off out for a night on the town and simply cannot be arsed when I have a shirt to press and aftershave to debate the merits of.

catch ya later.

Well, both of your collections mainly consist of new stuff. Not a bad thing, just that I personally like to buy a mix of older and new stuff. Essentially, if you like the films that are part of the collection..... then it's good.

I think they both could do with a bit more variety, maybe not, though. Sure, there's a few films in there I'd never consider buying... but it's probably the same with everyone's collection. I think all my DVDs are pretty good, with the exception of 2, but when I tell others what I have, they wonder what I was thinking about.

http://www.dvdprofiler.com/mycollection.asp?alias=manco is mine, but, well................ aye

What makes it so pitiful? You've got Pearl Harbor, Rush Hour and Scooby Doo, just to name a few among the titles you have. That qualifies as sad and pitiful because I can't for the life of me could comprehend the reason why in the world someone would want such films in their DVD collection other than the fact that they want to break the record for most titles collected.

Here's my DVD collection:

A.I. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (Collector's Edition)
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (Special Limited Edition)
CASABLANCA
CITIZEN KANE (Special Edition)
GLADIATOR (Collector's Edition)
THE LADY FROM SHANGHAI
MONSTER'S INC. (Collector's Edition)
SINGIN' IN THE RAIN (Collector's Edition)
THE SIXTH SENSE (Special Edition)
THE STANLEY KUBRICK COLLECTION (Lolita, Dr. Strangelove, 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, Barry Lyndon, The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, Eyes Wide Shut plus one documentary)

I've actually tried to find some good old movies, but some of the places I go to have unnaturally high prices for old movies, which mainly consist of SE versions of old movies. Like The Third Man, and Vertigo. Newer stuff is just easier to get. And malcolm1980, maybe, just maybe, porsche got those movies cause he (wait for it) liked them and wanted to own it. Everyone wants to shut their brain off at some point, and popcorn movies are nothing to be ashamed of, so perhaps he bought them cause he thought they were good

I don't mind popcorn movies AT ALL. I enjoy popcorn movies but I enjoy popcorn movies with good scripts and good acting. Just because a movie is crafted solely for entertainment purposes does not excuse a film from having a bad script, bad direction and bad acting. CGI farting dogs annoy me rather than entertain me.

Nice collection. There is a few though that I'd get rid of. And good choice with LOTR: EXTENDED EDITION

Anyone who has Fight Club in their DVD collection should be blessed. Not too sure that I would pay $19.99 for Scooby Doo, but maybe that's just me.

Well, here's my collection:

http://www.dvdaficionado.com/dvds.html?cat=1&id=kcmsterpce

There are a few I wish I didn't own, but I buy my movies more than I rent them. I am always late on a rental, so it costs at least $10.00 to RENT IT, and if I want to keep it, I have to then buy it... so in the end, I save money with 10 titles I don't like rather than liking 20 and THEN buying them.
