Eh, I read the first one and it seemed to be a bit of a knockoff of HP. Not in the plot, but in the writing style and whimsical kinda tone.

P.S. to Lemony Snicket: If you're gonna rip of a series of books, at least rip off a good one!

Exquisite. I have now offended both Lemony Snicket fans and J. K. Rowling fans.:D

Yeah, I'm about 1 for 8 million on my attempted humor all-time on this board.

Although it's nothing like HP...bravo at offending us all...you're a right gentleman and a brilliant comedian, bob ;)

I enjoy the series of unfortunate events, although it's getting repetitive.

yeah thats true. it seems that i always know where count olaf is because of the repetition. but thats ok. i try really hard to just forget what happened in the last books. i think the books are great and when i have kids i will read it to them. it teaches a lot. there are some words in the books that i don't even know, and i am glad they explain the meanings.

i just hope there is a happy ending, or i'd be very disappointed.

I'd actually be a bit disappointed if there was a happy ending. It would be straying so far from what the books intend, as well as ruining the plausibility of the story. Just my thoughts.

well, i am a sucker for the happy endings, and in the books, the kids deserve it. like, the very very very last book there was a happy ending. just one second before the book was over. i mean, i don't think i would like to read all the miserable things that happened to those awesome kids and then they just don't end up with something good. you know what i mean?
