like, if SEASON 1 of MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE sells decent but not great, do you all think that the company is obligated to finish releasing the entire series on DVD??

i would feel really screwed if i bought a few seasons of a show i loved, and than the company just decided to stop releasing the seasons!

I'm not sure. I read they're only gonna release DVD sets of the first 2 seasons of Oz, though I don't know if it's fact. If it sells well, u can bet your ass another set will come, but for decent, I don't know.

If one season works and sells well, they'll release the next. I guess that's how it works most of the time.

Unless it's in the contract with the company I doubt there is any obligation to release the entire series but, like James said, if the first season does well they usually unveil the rest eventually (like Friends, The Simpsons, The Sopranos, etc.)

thats what i figured... but wouldnt u all be pissed if say they released BOSTON PUBLIC (or a show that u enjoy) season 1, but sales werent great, and than they stopped releasing the rest of the seasons, so ur stuck w/ season1, and u never get to finish the collection??! wouldnt that piss u off!?

It would definitely piss me off, Big Pudge! I wouldn't want them to just stop after one season with a show I really loved, it'd be quite frustrating.
