If I had to get rid of one? Nightmare on Elm Street. I like the first a little bit, but the rest can eat my dogs ass.
What about if you could only keep one series? Halloween. Though I haven't seen the newest one, I love 1, 2 and 4 too much to let go!

I think just about every horror series needs to end. Halloween and Hellraiser need to do so with a "Michael vs. Pinhead" crossover, just as Freddy vs. Jason is doing to two hit franchises.

1) And what do you have to say about the rumors of another Scream trilogy? :o
2) Should Michael fight Pinhead?
3) In space?

I give all three a big HELL NO!!!!
If there is a forth installment, I will not watch it! I have always been a big believer in the concept of "don't knock it, till you've tried it" And I tried Scream 1&2 and I wasted my hard earned cash and precious time!!!! Not even for free will I watch three or another one and I will shit talk them all till the day I die!!!!

I was a little surprised you liked Jason X. I thought you would say it trashes the series or something. So what's the big deal about putting Michael in space? John Carpenter himself had plans to do so for Halloween 4. And Pinhead was already in space in Hellraiser: Bloodline (what did you think of that movie?).
In order to see where you're coming from, I'd have to hear your thoughts on the forthcoming Freddy vs. Jason.

As much as I love the first, I think I would get rid of the Scream series becuase that would avoid the shit way horror films are done today with pop stars and humor. If not that one, prolly Silent Night, Deadly Night. Never bothered with the sequels cuz the original was terrible. If I could only keep one series, it'd defintely be Halloween. Others I would fight to keep r the Nightmares, Fridays, Phantasms, and Romero dead films.

can i take 2?
i would also like to eliminate ikwydls. (you know the first).
i think the candyman sequals were pointless, the first one to me is one of the best scariest movies i have ever seen. but the other 2 were just doing the same thing and not even coming close to equalling it yet alone topping.

You took the words right out of my mouth. IKWYDLS is a pointless series, I live in the hope that they never make another sequel.
The others all have their good qualities, so I'd keep them (even Candyman - I'll watch anything with Tony Todd in it :) ).

Cy,
X did not trash the series part 7 and 8 trashed the series. X was not needed but it was made regardless of that fact and I watched it and I liked the deaths and It made me laugh and it is always a plus when something does not make me fall asleep.
Im sure someone would put Michael in space eventually but it would seem like a rehash to me because Jason just did that. Plus the concept leaves me with an out of place uneasy sort of feeling. With Michael it would look out of place and dumbass to me.
I have not seen Bloodline, I quit watching Hellraiser after part 3. My husband seen it and said there was not that much space crap anyway.
Freddy vs. Jason has been anticipated for years, when I first heard the buzz I thought it was an ignorant idea. I will probally watch it but Im sure it will be more funny than serious. Im wondering how the hell it would work? Freddy talks and Jason is a silent bastard? Jason is huge and Freddy is like a crotchety old squirt hunching around with his claws and one liners.
I also think a machete kicks claws ass any day and Jason would be the winner, but the dorky film maker would scratch that out and get some dumb ass no talent teen actor to find some far fetched way to send them both to hell and that would be the ending.
I really do not know, the whole thing clouds my brain to the point of insanity.

Well, I'm not sure how I could integrate the two series. All I know is that I plan to set it in the future, and end both for good. My goal will be to tie up every single loose end in all the films. Especially the final fate of poor Larry Cotton.

The wishmaster series has to go, it was cheesy and i couldnt really get involved with it. I thought it had some good gore effects and also that Kane Hodder was in the first one. That cant even save the series.

NEVER ENDING NIGHTMARE HORROR REVIEWS (http://www.neverendingnightmare.tk)
The first Hellraiser is my favorite movie of all time, but I like all of them. 3 and 4, while definitely the worst are still highly enjoyable to me; but 1, 2, and 5 are godly. 6 is decent but I've only watched it twice so far and I need more time to evaluate it.
I agree that for alot of people the only attraction was pinhead, but that's a shame because the series was never meant to really be about him anyway. He gets little screentime in all of the HR's except for 3 and 4, which is the way it should be.
To answer the question of the topic, I would not get rid of any horror series because I would most likely be depriving somebody somewhere of some enjoyment. If I HAD to though, I guess I would choose one of the teeny bopper series like I Know What You Did Last Summer.

ROFL...sorry, that cracked me up. Mr. Bradley is putting the poundage on, I'm sorry to say. He appeared in a stage play in London some time ago, and some friends of mine went to see it and reported back via e-mail. Great performance, but as one friend put it "They're going to have to shoe-horn him into the Pinhead costume for the next instalment." Another friend said he was "Doing a 'Shatner'" (i.e., requiring a girdle). Poor guy.
Looks like the IKWYDLS series is winning the "Die, Franchise, Die!!!" award.

devil, dont be a jerk. just because you dont like something doesnt mean everyone feels that way. saying "how can anyone defend...?" is being a jerk. no, you arent respecting other's opinions. so show some respect and you'll get it in return.
dont say mean things and expect everyone to treat you with great respect, cause buddy, it aint gonna happen.

it has nothing to do with weather it is good or not, it has to do with being respectful. devil isnt.

Toxferatu
11-25-2002, 08:16 PM
because it wasnt as simple as giving an opinion, he was telling other people that thier opinion was wrong and that we should think like him.
if he said that he didnt like the movie, cool, but saying "How could anyone defend Hellraiser,It simply sucked,Enough said." isnt cool. thats being a jerk with your opinion and acting like your way of thinking is the only way to think. and thats wrong.
i dont mind if someone has a strong opinion, but you can be much more respectful about it than acting like your opinion is the right one. no one's opinion is right, no one's is wrong.

I'm not sure I would get rid of any horror series. You really never know if the next one will rock your world. I mean, I thought Halloween 3,4,5,6 and 8 all pretty much sucked, but that doesn't mean I won't go see the first screening of part 9. If I had to choose, it would be the Blair Witch series. I truly hated both movies. They were even more of a flash in the pan than the so-called "teeny bopper" movies. But that being said, I wouldn't want to deny myself the opportunity of seeing part 3, just in case it does turn out to be good. I just kind of feel that if I am truly, horribly nauseated by a franchise, I just won't go see it. It's the way I feel about Julia Roberts movies: I hate them to high hell, but why deny all those folks out there who get a good time out of them?
