Considered the similarities:

Both were released by Paramount.
Both were made for very little money.
Both have become HUGE money makers for the company.
Both are recieving(or did recieve) flack for its lack of story and gruesome stunts.

Will the "Jackass" franchise become the next Friday the 13th?

P.S. Can you imagine a Jackass 2: The Pain Continues?

hopefully in Jackass goes to hell they actually kill johnny knoxville instead of launching him into space for a retarded sequel.

@ Jason

Well, that's an...interesting comparison, but otherwise, they could scarcely be more different. I do see more Jackass movies in the can if they think it will do as well as the original.

i really hope i dont offend anyone by saying this but... Jackass better not have any sequels...no remakes....it should be taken out of the theatres now. I just dont see why ppl would spend 8$ to see it. But if you like it...more power to you! :D

I saw it and I liked it. Most reviews that I read were actually positive... its like watching a bunch of funny outtakes. I doubt they will make more- what more can they do. The problem with stuff like this and Tom Green is once people know who they are its hard to do pranks on people so they have to do it on themselves and parents or a foriegn country ( which both Tom and the Jackass crew have done). I think its just plain fun - I had never seen such interaction from viewers than in Jackass- the "oooh" and the laughter was very constant... it may not be a movie- since it has no real plot or anything- but its fun to watch, at least the first time around. I could go on and on but this is a horror forum so i must stop myself.
