Vanilla Sky. Mulholland Drive. Donnie Darko. Just a few of the mind fucks of last year. But, and please forgive me if this is a stupid question, but have there been any this year? Thinking back I can't remember a single one. Help here.

This may or may not qualify, but The Ring. It's the only one that I think fits the description that's come out this year

Frailty is a mind-fuck movie from this year.

Frailty is a great choice in which a movie can be a mind fuck in a good way. Femme Fatale is a mind fuck in a bad way cause you don't know what the hell is going on most of the time

Brian DePalma's very enjoyable Femme Fatale (In theaters now) is definitely a mindfuck film that I highly recommend. I can't wait until it's on video so I can buy it. I saw it for the third time tonight.

Salton Sea is a mind fuck movie of a very high caliber. Top notch cast too: Val Kilmer, Vincent D'Onofrio, Doug Hutchison, Anthony LaPaglia, Adam Goldberg, Luis Guzman...check it out if you haven't already

"Solaris" coming out later this month, if it's anything like the book or film it's based on, should be something of a mindfuck. But yes, I think 2001 was definitely a banner year for the subgenre.

Damn, I keep forgetting the mindfucks this year, but it's a subjective term. But I highly recommend Salton Sea, if only to see D'Onofrio wacked out of his mind

I guess I was a little harsh on Femme Fatale Blue Gopher, I went and saw it again and liked it. Sometimes a movie is better the second time around.

Another mind fuck movie could be Rules of Attraction with the way i was scratching my head on what some of the characters were doing to themselves in that movie. Not many surprises really but I was just put back by some of the things that happened. Overall a good movie though

I saw One Hour Photo today and I would say its a mind-fuck movie. It really fucked with my head.

I have heard of pretty much every movie listed on this page, but i haven't really see than many crazy ones this year. I can remember The Mothman Prophesies, Dragonfly, Unfaithful and Murder By Numbers to be pretty fucked up but that's it... I'm looking for a new "Requiem for a Dream" :D

Yeah, I saw One Hour Photo (9/10) and Frailty (7/10-OVERRATED). I want to see Femme Fatale, but up here in Alberta, it's 18A and I doubt my father would take me to it. The Salton Sea! I had totally forgotten about this film and I will be renting it this weekend along with True Romance and Requiem for a Dream.

Only joking, I wonder if Sphere is a mind f*ck flick?.... No, I guess it isn't.

That's funny, I actually think Frailty is majorly UNDER-rated. It never made the money or got the love it deserved.

"Frialty" and "One Hour Photo" mind fucks? They were just thrillers through my eyes. When I think of the term "mind fuck" I think David Lynch. Hasn't been one released this year IMO.

I think that the idea of a mid fuck movie is all incredibly subjective- as unique as human minds are, obviously it's going to take different aspects of film to 'fuck them up.'

In my honest opinion, I found One Hour Photo disturbing, but not quite a mind fuck. I'm usually more messed up by things like Requiem For A Dream (for the camerawork, depictions of human nature and the unhappy endings), Ring (Nakata's version...just such warped imagery that your mind does not come out unscathed) and La Haine (a harsh, unrelenting film that makes you realise what society is capable of).

I think that anything that makes you consider the discourse of life (American Beauty, Donnie Darko, Abre Los Ojos) will normally make you think, and whether it fucks with your head is all up to the mind it is going into.

The Ring is the only one I can think of. But Mulholland Dr. definetley fucked with me the most....maybe ever!
