I never could understand this, there is a House 1, House 2, and a House 4, where the hell is House 3? Was it released under another name? Was it banned? Does it even exist? I like all of the House movies in one way or another, and have been pondering this House phenomenom for awhile now.

I believe the third House film goes by the moniker, The Horror Show. I haven't seen anything past the original, so I don't know if it's worth a rental.

alright, thanks! I ran across that on Imdb, but didn't know.

I caught The Horror Show late at night a few months ago on HBO or Showtime. It was okay. Predictable though.

The thing is that House I and II come in the same disc, its weird cause its not advertised on the cover in anyway, but I guess its a cool bonus... http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

The original House was a pretty cool flick. Not really scary but plain old goofy fun, and it had George Wendt so that made things even better. I found House 2 to be annoying at times and its really a sci fi fantasy comedy with no horror elements and not nearly as fun as the first. I never got to see House 3 or The Horror Show but I have heard mostly negative comments about it. I caught House 4 on the sci fi channel a few years ago and it was okay. Better than Part 2 but not as good as the original. It follows the Roger Cobb story but without Roger and has a more serious tone of the second one. Overall its alright. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

From what I understand, The Horror Show was never intended to be a House sequel, but in the UK, it was marketed as such, so producer Sean S. Cunningham decided the film was "officially" House III in order to avoid confusion when they did the next installment. Of course, the best thing to do for House IV would have been to not put any numbers in the title (i.e, House: Repossesion).

I've seen the first two films. H1 is an entertaining horror comedy, and I can see why it's become a cult classic. H2 has a bad reputation, but I thought it was just as entertaining. I'm not in any hurry to see the other two, though William Katt returned in H4.

Has ANYONE seen House 3? I haven't even seen the movie in video stores or anything. I was almost convinced that it was nonexistant. It would be nice for me to finally complete the series. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

I think my local store carries a copy, but I am not sure.

Amazon has it here (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/6301970039/qid=1047428635/sr=1-4/ref=sr_1_4/103-2281144-6463069?v=glance&s=dvd).

Thought it was a solid horror film, without the comic elements of the first two House films or the absolute and utter awfulness of House 4...

I watched it some time ago. Very awful ripoff of another awful movie Shocker. Stay with the first two superior House movies.

Hmmm...I have to wonder if Wes Craven felt "betrayed" or anything. Cunningham backed his first feature film, Last House on the Left, then he turns around and rips him off (I believe both movies flopped).

House III is fucking terrible - I'm not even going to bother justifying the reasons why, as it would take me all night...It really is that bad.

Well, at least give us the most important reasons.

From what I remember:

* The film has no tension or scares whatsoever
* The plot is just a rip-off from more notable films such as Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th and I'm sure someone had read the script for Shocker.
* Brion James had the most nippy laugh (and he laughed a lot!)

Well what exactly is the plot? I heard something like its a maniac trapped in some kind of defensive house with a family or something ridiculous like that. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

It's supposed to be a ripoff of Wes Craven's Shocker. Cunningham obviously was attempting to cash in on what he thought would be its success--but both films flopped. :D

Are you serious? I guess after the big NIGHTMARE craze Cunningham might have figured anything CRAVEN touched would turn to gold and tried to copy it. Looks like he thought wrong. I myself don't think that Shocker was too bad of a film. Now if only I could find Chiller... Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Im gonna have to agree with KillerKlown on this one... House III (Horror Show) is an absolutely awful film. The dialogue is ridiculous, the characters annoying, and certain scenes laughable (the movie hits rock bottom when the killer's face appears on the turkey).

Who distributed the House and House II disc? I'd like to get it. William Katt is one cool cat(no pun intended)...

Andrew Tom, Anchor Bay is currently distributing it. But I dont think youll find that House/House II disc anymore, it was a limited release. Now youll find them on seperate discs.

I guess the ones who bought that version were lucky.
