Ok, I don't know if I'm the last person alive to realize this, but just incase there's any Matchbox 20 fans out there who are as slow as I am, you'll want to point your ears at this...
Before Matchbox 20 was formed, Rob Thomas, Brian Yale, and Paul Doucette (all are current MB20 members) were part of a different band named Tabitha's Secret. The 3 were offered a record contract, but the offer didn't include the Tabitha's Secret guitar players Jay Stanley, and John Goff. So, the band broke up, and the 3 remaining went on to form Matchbox 20 with replacement guitar-men Adam Gaynor and Kyle Cook.
Now, all that I'd sorta known, but until just recently, I hadn't heard any of their original stuff (including the original recording of 3AM). They apparently have a website (http://www.tabithas-secret.com) where you can sample the CD tracks...
And Around (http://tabithas-secret.com/media/audio/ts/01-and_around.mp3)

Swing (http://tabithas-secret.com/media/audio/ts/08-swing.mp3)
Dizzy (http://tabithas-secret.com/media/audio/ts/09-dizzy.mp3)
3AM (acoustic) (http://tabithas-secret.com/media/audio/ts/10-3am_acoustic.mp3)
Blue Monday (http://tabithas-secret.com/media/audio/ts/11-blue_monday.mp3)
...if you ask me, it's worthy of being called "the lost Matchbox20 CD". GREAT stuff indeed. Unable to find a copy in the local music store, I just ordered my copy off Amazon.... can't wait. :-)
