I was looking through Blackestheart.com's dvd selection last night, and to my amazement what did I see; Zombie 3 for dvd. My heart literally raced, "Lucio Fulci's infamous, never before released in the U.S.A, Zombie 3 is finally available for dvd. I know that Lucio Fulci was at fault with the story line and either left his post as director intentionally or became sick and left; the officially report says he left because he was ill. Never-the-less I still have been wanting to see this movie for a long time. I've read constant descriptions about the movie, and just when I thought the only copies I were able to obtain were Japanese or grainy Dutch bootlegs, I finally came across this puppy, and in widescreen, english language, trailers and bios. But as my astonishment wore off and as I gazed closer I noticed the title read, "Zombie 3 (aka Burial Ground)", and in the dvd feature description one title read, "Bianchi Filmography". As I did more research, I learned that in fact this was not Fulci's much sought after Zombie 3, but in fact another movie with the same name, but also about zombies. "Why Satan Why?"

Then again, i'm hoping that the description is just a mis-description, because just below it on the Blackestheart.com catalogue is Fulci's Zombi 2 (Aka Zombie) with the same design pattern used for the Zombie 3 package above it. I will pray to Lucifer that this is infact Fulci's Zombie 3, and be able to finally find enlightenment within my soul; or dreaded eternal misery! Visit the website here http://blackestheart.com/ and tell me what you think. Why the hell wont they release Fulci's Zombie 3 here in the U.S.?

Personally I don't think Burial Ground was all that bad of a movie (espicailly if you are a Zombie movies fan). It is by no means the greatest movie made but I'd watch it over again (I've already seen it many times) instead of some of the ilk being passed off as "good" anymore.

As far as the Zombie titles you'll find that with a lot of the Zombie movies from Italy. House of Horrors has a nice AKA list on there site.

Zombie 3 takes a lot of flack from fans as well and I'm not sure why. If I wanted to watch and enjoy a movie on the merrits of acting, story etc I wouldn't be watching a movies about Zombies. While the story is not really of sequel of Zombie Flesheaters I thought it had some decent moments and some wild ass gore.

*************** Spoiler *******************

The zombie baby scene was up there with the scene from Shatter Dead with the baby.

And if you want a really bad zombie movie I'd say check out Night of the Zombies

Zombie Flesheaters 2,i'm on it it big time. This is one of the best Eoro zombie films to come out of the 80's.

The fact that Bruno(Night of the Zombies)Mattei directed most of it makes it even better.

I like Bruno Mattei and "Night of the Zombies"; I happen to own a copy of the film that I got from a small backstreet video store when it went out of business. I dont know what the big deal is with Bruno or "Night of the Zombies". I think the movie is actually very eerie, and not as corny as many think it is. Sure it uses real cannibal footage from a documentary that was shot long before Night of the Zombies, but that only adds to the eeriness of the film. On top of that, the acting is pretty good. I love the guy who plays Santini (I think that's what his name was); I wish I could see him in another movie.

I ordered the Japanese import DVD of Zombie 3.I heard that the UK version(zombieflesheaters 2),is massively cut. What would the film be without all the gore intact, that's a large part of it's charm.

Yes,Night of the Zombies,is some classic stuff, but there is no doubt it's because of the intensely italian horror cheese level.

And what's that deal with the obvious insertion of National Geographic footage of Africa, the use of the Dawn of the Dead soundtrack?Hilarious stuff,to be sure, but that part of it's charm.

There is some creepy moments. The zombie kid(may have been a first),The zombies attacking the house at the end,The Zombie Rat attack.

It's one of the best eurohorror flicks of all time, but you have what i call an extrememly high tolerance for cheese, and totally inept filmmaking.Another one that's on the same "level",is City of the Walking Dead by Umberto Lenzi.Just as cheesy and just as fun.

City of the Walking Dead is another I've been wanting to see for a long time now. Over at Pokerindustries.com they have an import dvd. I've read lots of descriptions of the movie, so I think it's right up my alley! The soundtrack for Night of the Zombies only borrowed about one clip from DOTD, the rest was taken from a movie called "Contamination", which Goblin also scorred. I love this score I have it on disc.

Oh my gosh, they have "Night of the Zombies" for dvd over at Amazon.com U.S.A. It's under the title "Hell of the Living Dead" though. Did anyone else know about this. Some of the features it includes is an interview with Bruno Mattei, some trailers and some bios; unfortunately no commentary. Check it out!

You're not going to believe this, but Mattei is is just about 72 YO,looks like he has just made another zombie film recently. On the IMDB it lists his most recent effort "Night of the Zombies",year 2001(V).

I have to track this one down, even though the description sounds like a cheap ripoff of NOTLD.It's all he knows how to do,hack like mad,but it's something he's perfected.

Considering his age, this could be his last.Just to confirm a previous post, yes NOTZ is available on DVD under the name Hell of the Living Dead.I've read some reviews on Amazon, and most say the film never looked so good, and the gore really stands out now that the original print has been remastered.

His other"classic"is on DVD too,Rats.I've never seen it but it supposed to be just as horrendously entertaining as NOTZ.

No, I'm not sure what that one is you're talking about; sounds something like "Dawn of the Dead". The one were talking about is about a toxin released into the air in New Guinea from a power plant. After the disaster at the plant, and after all of the employee's turning into zombies and attacking thier coworkers in the beginning, we cut to a 4 or 5 man swat team in some western country. They attack a building and kill terrorists holding people hostage; not an important scene, but still cool to watch. Then they get sent to New Guinea to investigate the plant disruption. There they encounter a group of reporters, as well as some zombies. From this point forward they have to stay alive and get to the plant for whatever reason there is. No one else does, but I think it's cool.

Hey, I ordered that DVD, and it's here, cant wait to watch it!

The fast moving zombies sounds a bit like City of the Walking Dead, or the crapfest Zombie 4: After Death

Hey everyone, I finished watching the DVD and I can tell you that the quality is absolutely jaw dropping. Even if you don't like the movie, I would still suggest buying this dvd; it will make a great addition to any collectors library. If you have a vhs version, buy the dvd just so you can compare them; it really is stunning. Where everything was dark and in-transferable in the vhs, everything is bright and colorful on the dvd. For instance: in the village scene where the woman goes into one of the huts and finds the priest zombie, I thought everything was supposed to be dark in the room because of the vhs, but on the dvd you can see everything clearly, including the zombie. Anchor Bay really did a great job with this movie!

I can't believe this films popularity is actually increasing over time. It's sales rank on Amazon is pretty damn respectable, considering this is an obscure low budget effort from the early 80's that people seem to love or hate. One thing they can't deny is that it has a charm all it's own,it's delightfully incompetent in a cinematic way,how can't you love it.

Now please Anchor Bay,show the same respect you have for this film for Zombie 3,another of Mattei's/Vincent Dawn efforts,in my opinion his best.
