Has anyone seen this movie? I watched it on rental in the 80s and I've never seen it since in the UK. I can vaguely remember the story and that I really enjoyed it. Anyone?

I really like this movie. The scene with her being chased by the dog creeps the hell out of me. Good Music, Argento directing his ass off, and john saxon.... what more could you ask for? Oh yeah, and tons of gore too!

Definitely one of Argento's better pictures. The finale is a tad confusing for someone who has seen it for their first time, but entertaining nevertheless.

A cool flick; heightened by an exciting music score, frantic pacing, gory slayings and a knock-you-off-your-ass ending. As good as it is, Dario would go on to supremacy a few years later with "Phenomena."

One of my favorite Argento films. How on Earth Argento managed to get Anthony Franciosca to appear in the movie is a mystery though.
Great death scenes too. Some highlights would include a woman who gets her mouth stuffed with pages of a book and then having her throat slashed, the crumpled pages falling out of the hole in her throat onto the floor, a woman getting her arm chopped off via an axe, a man getting an axe through the head, and an excellent climatic scene involving someone getting impaled by a 'pointy' sculpture.
There are also some hilarious scenes in the film, involving a girl getting chased by a dog and a woman getting attacked by a filthy bum and she knees him in the balls.
Not as good as Profondo Rosso, but still VERY GOOD all the same. Keep your eye out for John Saxon as well.

Argento tribute to his fans(if you don't get it think about the end for a little bit). Great flick. Love that camera around the house shot. Buy it dude you won't regret it.

I hired this about five days ago on weekly hire, but haven't got around to watching it yet. I'll definitely check it out now, though. It sounds like a cool flick. I saw Phenomena a few months ago, and that was terrific. The video cover was called Creepers, and I know that is supposed to be the cut version (and the box even said 82 minutes), but the version I would up watching was almost two hours, very gory and quite disturbing. I kind of lucked out there. Dario Argento can be a bit too misogynist for my tastes sometimes, but there's no denying the man knows how to make a stylish horror movie.

I also found that very strange p1hilips. The movie was uncut apparently (this guy i know had seen the uncut phenomena dvd and noticed no real diff.) Tenebre is my fav. argento and once again we are lucky to have it uncut phil, (is it the palace tape?)

That could be great news for me...the other day I was browsing through a second-hand store and found a copy of creepers for only 6 bucks, so I bought it, but since then I've been worrying that it has been hacked and edited to death. Hopefully it's the same one you have p1phillips, on the front is a picture of Jennifer Connelly holding out her arm and in her hand there are thousands of insects. Also, half of her face is kind of a skull type thingy.
p.s. no one spoil it for me.
p.p.s. Tenebre is pretty damn good. I found the original uncut version in walmart for only $3.88! (VHS)

Yeah, pedro, it's the Palace tape. Is that uncut, huh? Cool. Our video store also has the uncut version of The Burning. Despite the extreme lack of availability of many horror films, we were pretty lucky to bypass that whole video nasties thing. As for Tenebre, it's due back tomorrow, so I'd better haul my ass into gear and watch it.

One of Argento's best movies. Absolutely great. Great ending, great directing, great gore and great music, so it's overall a great movie.

Well, I kept the movie a couple of extra days and finally got around to watching it. Very entertaining. Perhaps not as scary as I would have liked, but I was never bored.

The cut-off arm scene was foul! I loved it. Very gory. I didn't have any trouble understanding the ending, though I thought it was a bit lame. If the fiance character had been around more and if they'd at least given one or two indications that Peter Neal was a bit possessive, it would have made more sense. I mean, why did he sleep with his assistant if he was so psychotically upset about his fiance getting it on with his agent? All in all, though, I was kept gripped throughout. I read Arrow's review. Spot on, especially about how unbelievably stupid the female characters are. Lol.

Ah Tenebrae, what a hell of a movie, made when Dario was at his peak. The Photography in this movie is incredible, gore scenes are very over the top,and the setting proves dario should never choose mainstream Hollyweird over Italy.

I really want to see it but there is no video club that rents it near my home in Braine L'Alleud ( Belgium )
I am pissed because I am an Argento fan !!
I own from him :
Suspiria, The Bird With The Crystal Plumage, The Cat O' Nine Tails, Deep Red, Inferno, Opera and The Styndal Syndrom ( too underrated this film according to me because the first part is really good )

one of my favority argento movies. the gore is great and the "twist" ending is really cool. the arrow's review is correct is criticizing some of the acting, though - a few of the female actors are beyond bad. other than that, a great movie. i have always looking at it as argento doing hitchcock his way.

I bought the Tenebrae DVD a few weeks ago on the strength of Suspiria and was surprised but satisfied. It's nothing like Suspiria, but it is a tight mystery story with some very interesting twists. What I particularly liked was that the initial killer was actually killed off.

Excellent film - One of Argento's finest.
