I didn't know what this movie was about until I saw a trailer for it about a month ago. I had heard of it and I saw that Joblo had given it a negative review but since I didn't read his review yet I had no clue what this movie was. After seeing the trailer I must say that it looks really good. I will definitely check this movie out, whether it be in theaters or on video...

What does everyone else think?

I really want to see this film! The plot is very interesting and I have read a lot about the true story its based on. It should be a great Drama and I look forward to it.

I have a feeling that Rabbit-Proof fence is a film that you either love or hate. I saw it at a preview screening a couple of months back, and whereas everyone around me proclaimed that it was boring and somewhat slow, you can't deny that it's a very potent piece of filmmaking.

I think that a lot of people found it tiresome- the film is a good two hours long, has very few characters, and the scenery changes very rarely. There are no major plot twists or any clever cinematography or whatnot, and what you hold out for is the ending, and when it comes, perhaps the relief you feel is not entirely to do with the plot- it might be more to do with the fact that finally we don't get another shot of the wilderness of the Australian outback.

This film would have settled far more comfortably within the boundaries of a documentary- it's content is very documentary friendly (based on a true story, etc), and it could do with a good half hour lopped off it.

I don't know. It looks good, but its looks boring. There may be jokes in there, but they will probably be bad.

EEEk.. see or no see.

Knowing the true story this film is based on, I highly doubt there will be jokes. This is a very serious drama about survival.

D'oh. The pic where the guy is next to the car picking up the kids, It looked funny, so thats why I thought it was sort of a comedy.

Well, now I feel like Im fitting in, although everything I say is the complete opposite.

I kind of agree, the guy looks like he's constipated...

It's not a great movie and it's not a bad one either...

It's just a pretty decent, albeit beautifully photographed escape drama with little tension and slight characterization. Except for Kenneth Branagh playing the WHITE MAN, the black cast is mostly made up of amateurs and it shows in natural, if dull performances.

It hold my interest until the last third, as nothing much happens on the girls' road back home and when something happens, it's clichéd. This sure is overrated (as most movies WITH A STORY nowadays are - just look at the hype surrounding SPIDER-MAN) and it depends on the viewer, if he bonds with the girls plight or not.

Roger Ebert reportedly cried at the ending... whereas I just didn't care all that much, even though it's a true story.

I guess, Noyce shouldn't have told it so straightforwardly and turned up the tension and give the characters more to do.
