Is this film any good.......I plan on renting it but would like to know if its worth my time...something about having an all male cast doesn't make me that excited about it either, but never the less...is this film good?

Yeah it's a cool movie. Cheesy, but it's meant to be. The cast does a pretty good job imo.

Outstanding movie. Antonia bird is a very talented director who got rail roaded because Priest was put out by Touchstone which is owned by Disney. All the uncalled for controversy pretty much killed her career and I think Ravenous will probably be her final swan song. The music and seting is perfect for the film as well as the over the top performances.

I love this movie! I guess it`s not for everyone though. Great cast (esp. Robert Carlye and Jeffrey Jones).
'Monty Python' fans should like this.

Ravenous- 10/10

Rated R for Tons of Gruesome Violence and Gore.

I love Ravenous. Maybe it's the snow covered atmosphere, the beautiful score, the engaging story, the well developed characters or the non-stop gore talking but Ravenous is one of my favorites. Ever since I first watched this flick a few years ago, it hasn't left my mind. It's truly a one-of-a-kind horror movie. It throws in cannibalism, vampirism, and comedy to make one hell of a ride.

Acting- 10/10
Guy Pierce is amazing to say the least. He plays the cowardly soldier perfectly (although one of the points of this flick is that he truly never was a coward), Robert Carlyle is fantastic as the nutcase and hilarious as hell!

Directing- 10/10
Beautiful!

Gore- 10/10
The first bit of gore comes from a remarkably disturbing scene where Guy Pierce hides among the recently deceased in a war. The dead bodies with split necks and severed limbs drip blood all over him. There's also dismembered horses, a body being chopped up for dinner, 2 guttings, a gushing slit throat, stomach split upward, and much much more!

Nudity- 0/10
Zero for the guys but the ladies get Robert Carlyle's butt and the blonde dude shirtless.

I like "Ravenous", but for some strange reason, BEFORE I saw it... NO ONE I know liked it! They all said it SUCKED!

I didn't expect much from it, and came out with a pretty satisfied grin on my face. I like the soundtrack a lot, some good tight direction, GREAT cinematography and a unique storyline are things to look forward to when you see this.

This is a really underrated flick. Although it was marketed as a horror flick, it's really more of a black comedy. But it's very stylish and the actors all do a damn fine job.

Yeah, it's more of a morbid, quirky comedy than it is an outright horror flick. It's energetic, offbeat, and highly entertaining. There are no dull spots to speak of. Even David Arquette isn't as annoying as he usually is. The eccentric score struck me as disjointed at first, but in hindsight, I dig the fact that it mirrors the incongruity of the film. Solid stuff.

Ravenous deserved to be a winner, with its dark humor, soundtrak,a wicked cast, and some eye popping gore. Also give some great insight to the Wndigo myth.

A little bit of news spoiled this great movie for me. Jeffrey Jones best known as the principle in Ferris buellers day oof and stars in this movie got caught with videotapes of him having sex with a 15 year old boy. Now every time I see this movie and sleepy hollow I'm going to get disgusted.

I heard that news too. Pretty disheartening, because Jeffrey Jones is actually one of my favorite actors. He always is a bright spot in any movie he`s in (hell, even "Howard the Duck").

One thing though - are you absolutley sure it was a videotape with him having sex with the boy? Cause I thought it was PICTURES of the boy naked, but not actually having sex with Jones.

I believe your right, if it were a videotape he would've have been convicted right away. The fact that his trial is undecided probably means it was just the pictures of a nude boy. Still gross but not as disgusting, IMO. Also, there's still hope for bowieeee to watch his movies if he's not convicted.

I'm making it my new mission to try to seperate actors personal lives from their work. Its extremely hard though. For instance I think Woody Allens movies are brilliant but the thought of him having sex with his foster daughter just disgusts me. Ive been trying to put the differences aside to watch his films lately but I dont think my experiment is working.

The score was done by the front man of blur with someone else. Just a fun fact :).

Priest was like a bitch slap to my face in a good way. I caught it on tv and it put me in awe. What a great statement on the problems plauging the church due to Modern times. It had some scenes I dont think Ill forget for as long as I live.
