I think Friday the 13th part 2 is good.Yes it's worth buying on DVD,it has good gore,I'm pretty sure there's full frontal nudity (I think so,it was either the 2nd or 3rd Friday) I think the first is better, but it's worth renting or buying it on DVD.Enjoy.

Definitely one of the better F13 sequels. 1,2,4, and 5 (underrated) were the best. 3,6,7,8 are the worst. 9 lies somewhere in the middle--10 remains to be seen.

Friday the 13th Part 2 is a great movie....if you love old school slasher movies. It's a typical slasher in many ways, but manages to be creepy, funny, and suspenseful. Oh yeah and this is the first movie where Jason starts hacking people to bits. Good fun.

i like the second one a lot, probably the best "pre-6" sequel in the series.

FRIDAY THE 13TH: PART 2 (1981) Directed by Steve Miner. This film was necessary as far as sequels go, since the presumed dead Jason didn't appear in the first "Friday" until the final scene. The word "necessary" is not equivalent to a good story in this case. The original "Friday", like most in any film series is far superior. Part 2 does include a couple of positive points: the pre-credits cameo by Part 1 survivor Adrienne King, and this film's heroine Amy Steel (as Ginny, perhaps the toughest and most popular leading lady in the "Friday" series). The film's final act, an ongoing battle between Jason and Ms. Steel...is a tour-de-force, and almost makes up for the rest of the film! The rest of the cast is pretty awful, as is the writing, although the production values contain more gloss than grit (the original "Friday" featured a more "grainy" look). One major loose end that wasn't even tied up in Part 3...what happened to Ginny's boyfriend Paul (John Furey) after Jason jumped through the window in the finale and attacked Ginny? My grade:C (points earned only by King and Steel as the tag-team heroines).

Its pretty typical of the series, better than a number of the entries from what I can remember, which is to say still piss poor. Though that didn't stop me watching the whole damn lot of them.

It is a good movie, and no it is not worth it getting it on DVD. Why? Because of some asshole named Martin Blythe. Who's He? He is the bastard with the power to either give Paramount movies such as Friday The 13th film extras and he has choosen not to. The reason he gives? " There is not enough of a demand for extras to be given to the Friday DVD's" and I beg to say Bullshit!!! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/tongue.gif Paramount likes to treat their Horror children like red headed bastard step children. I will not ever buy any of the Friday the 13th movies on DVD without extras. I will not waste my money on barebones when I know more is out there and I demand it by God and if you do as well, here is what you do...

Yep you got it bud, Paramount practically regrets any horror movie they help bring out but holy hell man I hear noone complaining about the money it brought in and It did bring in quite a pretty penny and you know this because of the horror crowd following that is associated with the Friday Movies. I know some of us do not care for extras and buy the movie anyway but there are those of us that want extras and I for one am not buying any Friday the 13th dvd without extras because there will be extras for these films one day and I will help get them along with the many others I know that exist in this world!!!! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif

as the society came this low when we care more about nudity and extras then the movie it's self? i mean u want nudity.. buy a porn.. you want extras... buy the forrest gump movie.. there is a shitload of extras.. i mean a whole disk dedicated to extras... but yes 2 is definitley worth buying on dvd.. or even vhs if u have no dvd player

Part 2 is definitely a worthy sequel (although that pillow case thing was already done in The Town that Dreaded Sundown). Still, it's quite atmospheric and creepy. As is Part 3.

You missed the whole damn point Jason and that is so sad!!! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/frown.gif This is not about nudity and the nudity in most horror is not anywhere near being close to porn!! The movie itself is GREAT, but this movie to me is a legacy and Im sure there are interviews, commentaries, bloopers, stills whatever the hell you name it that would make the DVD more treasured by it's fans! OH and I want to see them the way they were intended to be seen and that is UNCUT!!! And most of these movies were cut right the hell up. It is fine if you are satisfied with just a bare bones DVD but do not Put down the rest of us who want a little more, I just can not believe you would pick on such a thing and act as if it is something petty or the people who want it are petty! Have some damn respect!!!

I hope one day they all come out with extras and uncut and some of you would argue about the importance of extras or why you could care less about them so let me give you a thought to chew on. Part 3 was relesed in
3-D and I was lucky enough to go see it in the theatres. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif This movie was done well in 3-D and the 3-D effects are also very well done. So this is the present and there is a Friday The 13th DVD part 3 out now, that is not in 3-D format ( yes it can be done! ) it has no extras and it is cut ( cut as in gore Jason not nudity for crying out loud!)
( I have uncut vhs version)and features a groovy ( http://www.joblo.com/ubb/tongue.gif ) trailer. Now is anyone going to tell me that they would not like to have part 3 uncut and that also features a regular/3-D format? Including say a cool two pairs of 3-D glasses and please noone give me the shit about those being dorky give me a break! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/tongue.gif
I for one would love a DVD of 3 that features the movie how it was intended to be seen!!!

Parilese You rule and you are exactly right. We as the Friday fans deserve a little fucking respect for putting our money in Paramounts wallet, And they have the gall to disrespect us all by releasing these bare bones. horrible, bullshit dvds. Fuck them. F13th fans are a huge cult, Probably near the size of the Evil Dead cult and the Evil Dead DVDS rule and I bet they make good money.

I'm sorry, but to me it's just an average horror sequel. I was worried that I'd end up hating all of them, especially after watching the dreadful Part 4, but to my relief I actually enjoyed Parts 6 and 7.

I watched this a few years ago not expecting much and I was surprised. I would recommend it I think they caught a decent atmospheric look and there was some good chase scenes. As far as gore from what I can remember there is a decent amount. And one thing I remember for sure is that naked chick coming out of the lake. All in all I thought it was slightly above average.

Its a worthy follow-up to the 1st one and has some likeable Characters.
It has damm fine full frontial nudity,Its creepy and scary as all hell; The lead female actress is better than average, and it has this tone where you know all through the movie that some very bad shit is gonna happen.
There are also 2 scenes that stick with me everytime i see this movie:The lightning flashes all over the place, and Jason crashing thru the window still scares the
shit out of me today.
One Question: What the hell happend to paul?
At the end of the movie Ginny is hauled onto the Ambulence, but he is nohwere to be seen?

Yeah, I see my topic about "The Prowler" was closed (guess I should`ve known)!
Anyways, for those who didn`t see the post, I noticed the other night that in the end credits of "Friday Part 2", there is a character listed called "The Prowler".
Who the hell is he?
It`s not another name for Jason, cause Jason is listed too, played by Warrington Gillete.
Then I thought, maybe it`s another name for Crazy Ralph...but nope, Ralph is listed as well (played by Walt Gorney).
So......who the hell is The Prowler in "Friday II"? Anyone know anything about this??

ParileseMonster, I'm with you all the way on this one. I'm a Friday the 13th fan and I'm really fucking pissed off at the Friday DVDs not being uncut. I don't even need the extras, as long as the films are UNCUT, the way the director wanted them to be seen. The MPAA certainly gave this series hell, if these flicks were submitted now, a lot less would have been trimmed. For example, in Friday V, the decapitation was cut, why would that be? We see onscreen decaps all the time! Since when is a decap innapropriate for adults?
Anyways, this is a great horror flick, some good gore (nice slit throat, machete in the face, etc.) and a very nice nude scene. Also, not very much was cut from this film, so if you want the DVD, I say go for it but stay away from some of the later flicks because they were hacked to shit by the MPAA.
