Last night i watched The Omen for the first time, i thought it was great! a solid 9/10 ****/****.

Spoilers

How are the Sequals though? Without giving too much away.

It would be amazing to see Damien rise in political power growing up in the white house.

I know Sam Neil is Damien in the third, and the fourth is about some girl (!?!?!)....

i really liked the sequals(the 4th one doesnt exist to me lol)

the 2nd goes into his teenage years, this is my favorite of the sequals.

the 3rd is pretty good too i thought, sam neil is a great anitchrist lol.

the 4th i thought was just god awful, its damien's daughter if i remember right. i'd say, dont bother with this one unless your a completest and must see all movies in a series. dont know why it was made at all.

The first "Omen" is the best in the series, Part 2 isn't bad either. I was massively disappointed by the remaining sequels, though.

Unless you want to watch a young Sam Neill being evilly smarmy and demonically maniacal in turns, give No. 3 a miss. No. 4 is just a waste of celluloid.

i didnt think they were as haunting as the original, but definetly worth watching.

tell me what you think of em once you watch em, i'm curious to see what other people think of em. i've heard alot of people not liking either sequal, i thought they were great. not classic like i think the first is but i really liked em.

i didnt say too much about them because i think its best going in not knowing too much with movies like this.

****almost a spoiler, but doesn't reveal much about plot really****

I really liked the first two movies alot, and I was really pumped when I rented the third. I thought it was going to have so much potential and have a great apocalyptic vision of the world under the antichrist's control. That is not what I got though. You see that he has a high power position in the world, but you don't really see him having a huge influence in changing things at all. It was like he was just another politician who made some shady deals. His death did not seem very climatic either.

It's been about a year since I watched it, so maybe I need to go rent it again and give it another chance. I just felt really let down after the buildup of the first two movies.

i would of thought that by the time Damian hits Sam Niels age he would be taking it all over...

My friend said that the one downfall with the second is that Damian doesn't know he is the son of the devil. That kind of spoils all those creepy looks he gives us in the first (esspecially the at the end!).

Though the more i think about how the devils son will rise to political power, the more i think that, if it is ever to come true, it already did with Adolf Hitler. I mean the ass hole killed nearly 9 million Jews in discusting ways we will never understand, not to mention all the destruction and other people who died trying to destroy/defend him... Damian could never pull that kind of armagedon.

I wish he had pulled that kind of thing in the third movie though. It lacked any kind of apocalyptic feel at all.

I really dug Omen 3: The Final Conflict, even though it gets thumbs-down from a lot of folks. It's got some great gore fx, and despite bloodfeaster's opinion I thought it did a good job showing Sam Neill as a puppetmaster controlling the motions of his staff to achieve his goal rather than simply giving himself away and saying "I'm the son of Lucifer, bow down before me". And I love the last line he has in that flick. Ranks in my book as one of the best end lines ever.

Unfortunately I don't remember what the last line was, can you post it in spoiler font for me?

You don't think it could have benefitted even a little bit if they made it have more of an apocalyptic bent to it?

It's been a while since I've seen it, so I plan on renting it again fairly soon to give it another chance. When I do I'll let you know if my opinion has changed at all.

If you're interested in seeing the "proverbial ball being dropped" in what should have and could have been THE BEST 3 part trilogy in horror cinema; but instead sucked donkey balls (except for the original) then go ahead and give them a rent... and WEEP.

I love the whole Omen trilogy.
(note I say trilogy. Omen 4 is asswipe)
The trilogy is perfect.
*****MINOR SPOILERS*****
Lance Henrickson is great in the 2nd one as Damian's mentor. And I personally liked that he didn't have a full sense of his identity until midway through the 2nd one. It was a heart wrenching moment when he found out. The 3rd one has some gruesome deaths. And I too love the last line...

************ENDING SPOILER**************

"You have won... Nothing" I think that was it

The 1st Omen film is a balls out horror movie that rivals the Exorcist.Part 2 is not as good as #1,but it has its moments.#3 is a dissapointment compared to the 1st 2.After a promising start, the movie goes downhill, with the only thing holding it together being Sam Neill.

Omen-10/10
Damian:omen 2-6/10
Final Conflict-4/10

As far as horror sequels go-- The Omen trilogy is good. (Like some have stated the fourth in my opinion doesn't exsist and isn't even worth watching):)
