Here's a look at the poster for the new horror sequel FINAL DESTINATION 2. I think this film should be cool. And the tagline for this flick is pretty cool too.

For every beginning there is an end

Yuck! That is one of the ugliest posters, I have seen in some time. The design is really unoriginal and looks recycled from every other teen poster. And the tag-line is boring. The first film was good, but this one looks very bad. Its called milking the cash cow. Ugh.

On a side note, what does Harry Potter have to do with FD2?

And is Devon Sawa in this? I really think he is a good actor, and I'll see this if it includes him.

Ew...what a horrible poster. Confusing and ugly yet stunningly generic, this one-sheet epitomizes "crappy teen horror film."

And the tagline, "For every beginning, there is an end", sucks balls.

I agree! The poster is indeed awful!

On a side note, have any of you guys seen the trailer yet???

It starts out brilliantly! The first half of the trailer is basically set up on a stretch of highway where the unevitable is about to happen. It is tense, and scary. But then, New Line has to go and follow up that brilliant setup with a mixture of cliched snippets that make the flick look like very other horror film out there.

Hopefully the film will be as good as the first half of the trailer, but more than likely , it will be as bad as the second half.

In all honesty, a Final Destination sequel was totally unnecessary! The original film was excellent, why do they have to go and ruin a good thing?....Oh yeah, for the almighty dollar!

Ideal: How does a sequel ruin the original? The original's still there, without change...

I happen to like the poster. And, yes, it IS far better than HP's, but that's beside the point. :D

With their facial expressions all blurred like that it actually makes it look closer to genuine fear, unlike posters for "Scream" and shit where they're in a single file line with retarded looks of "fear" or "I may be the bad guy because I'm smirking". Also, I'm very happy to not see any light going down the middle of the poster in the shape of a knife.

It doesn't necessarily ruin the original (sorry for my poor choice of words before) but I find that in most cases, sequels to be merely complete retreads of the original with far less care being placed in the process of creating them. Final Destination stands on its own as a solid horror/thriller. Is a sequel necessary? Really NO!

The magic of the original film tends to get lost in sequels. (Unless the films are based on a series of novels, or if the sequel is completely fresh and takes a different approach than the original)>

I agree with ideal....(sorry if this sounds too cliche, but) sequals rarely (note RARELY not NEVER) are as good as the origionals. Case in point, Final Destination did leave room for a sequal....of about 15 minutes until...

****SPOILER****

death finally killed the last three.

***END SPOILER***

Though FD was one of the most origional thrillers out there, Frequency gets the BEST THRILLER award in my book, I believe the sequel will, in affect, add the line, "Hey, but did you see the second one?"

Wow. Talk about unnecessary comments. What the hell does Harry Potter have to do with Final Destination 2? Are you just trying to create another dumb argument? Anyway, the posters OK. It reminds me of the first one too much.

I think the poster kicks some serious fucking ass! I like this poster better than the one for the first one. The blurred faces are a great touch, without them the poster wouldn't be as cool. At least the faces have the look of pure terror, which isn't the case with most posters for a lot of these teen horror flicks.

Box Office Prophets has a thing called "trailer hitch" out each week where they review the new trailers hitting theaters. This week they reviewed the one for FINAL DESTINATION 2 and they really dug it. This is what they had to say:

Trailers for horror movies can be hard to pull off, as it can be difficult to present a storyline and make it seem frightening, rather than just plain ridiculous, in a short amount of time. While the recent trailer for Darkness Falls seemed silly (the tooth fairy becomes a horrifying monster afraid of light), the movie itself might turn out to be terrifying, once the audience has more of a chance to get into the mood of the film. Unlike the one for Darkness Falls, this preview does a good job of being "intriguingly scary". I like the way real-life horrors, such as a terrible car accident, were used to scare audiences with the frightening concept of uncontrollable fate. The ad is simple in execution, but nevertheless comes off quite strongly. All in all, this is a very well-done trailer.

It sounds great to me! I hope I see the trailer when I check out THEY on Friday night. I also hope I will get to see the trailers for Darkness Falls and Legally Blonde 2...

I saw the trailer last night in front of THEY and I must say it KICKED ASS! I had heard it was good but I didn't expect it to be great. It was very thrilling and an excellent way to get people ready for it.

I saw the trailer before THEY also, but it just looked like another generic teen horror flick to me. Without Devon Sawa, this film'll blow chunks.

I agree that some parts looked generic, but the actual crash was very well done. Plus, A.J. Cook looked really cute. I didn't know if she was going to look that good with brown hair but I was wrong. That girl is adorable with any color of hair.

It looks okay. Kinda of uguly. But at the same time it looks so mad, it is kind of cool. But a lot better stuff has come.

PS- The HP poster didn't suck :D

Can you say "Cruel Intentions 2"? Not only THE worst sequ - FILM ever made but, for me, completely changed the effect of the first film. The whole point of Sebastian's character (If I'm not mistaken, I haven't seen the film in quite some time.) was he had never fallen for someone like Annette. But in CI2, the prequel to the original, Sebastian . . .

*SPOILER*

FALLS FOR THE INNOCENT HEADMASTER'S DAUGHTER (Hmm . . . sounds familiar.)

*SPOILER END*

Basically CI2 was made so money wouldn't be wasted. I'm sure you all know CI2 was originally flmed to be a series for FOX called "Manchester Prep" FOX deemed the pilot episode "Too racy" and permanantly canceled the series. (Which is why most of the dialogue in CI2 is directly from it's predecessor.) Instead they ruined what could've been a hip, intellingent, stand-alone film, IMO.

*whew* Sorry I HAD ro get that off my chest! :)
