Here's a look at the Top 10 films at the Aussie box office for the weekend 21st - 24th November 2002. Sorry I don't have the Top 20, but my info has been delayed.

(1) (1) MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING
(2) (2) THE RING
(3) (Debut) CHANGING LANES
(4) (3) CRACKERJACK
(5) (Debut) THE BANGER SISTERS
(6) (4) THE GURU
(7) (5) RED DRAGON
(8) (Debut) PLUTO NASH
(9) (6) K-19
(10) (12) THE BOURNE IDENTITY

MBFGW has shaped up to be the longest running film at the Number 1 spot of this year. 6 weeks at the Top spot. This week it brought in $1,592,000, taking its total to $18,426,000 (I'm not entirely sure if these figures are accurate, that goes for the other film totals, i suspect things have stuffed up a little). The stylish drama/thriller CHANGING LANES managed a nice debut at 3 with $964,000 whilst after having its preview screening debut at 11, Susan and Golide managed a nice shift up to 5 with the first week of national release for the pleasant comedy THE BANGER SISTERS. The much dreaded PLUTO NASH with Eddie Murphy managed a top 10 debut, however how long it will last is another question. In a surprising icrease, Matt Damon's THE BOURNE IDENTITY moved back into the Top 10, whilst Heather Graham's turn as a porn star with a heart of gold (nothing new there) in the delightful THE GURU dropped down to 6.

I'm sorry I can't give you the full list and the numbers are probably wrong, but at least you can see whats going on down under movie wise.

THIS WEEK: A varied week for releases this week, with the biggest of them all being the anticipated sequel and next week's number 1 (Most likely) HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS. Also opening is the horror/action BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF with Monica Bellucci, Soderbergh's FULL FRONTAL with Julia Roberts and David Duchovny, the erotic thriller KILLING ME SOFTLY with Joseph Fiennes and Heather Graham, and after having its original release date of October 17th pushed back till late November, Evil has finally found its way to Australian cinemas with HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION opening. Woo Hoo!

I also heard that the Madonna disaster SWEPT AWAY is opening but i'm not entirely sure and how it will go over hereshould be interesting.

I think Halloween Resurrection should probably make Top 10. But it will probably stay low in the 10. I liked the film, but Busta Ryhmes' schtick and some shotty dialogue ("This is for Jen and every one else") really dragged the film down, but nonetheless it had some cool kill sequences and was a nice way to spend 90 minutes or so. Swept Away, which did open but only in selected cinemas with limited screening times, will either make the low end of the Top 20, or won't make it at all. And Killing Me Softly is a bit of a toss up, it may ame low Top 10 or Mid to late Top 20, probably the latter.

nice to see the ring getting some sucess down there as well...dont like seeing pluto nash and banger sisters up there though....harry potter will likely take the number 1 spot from MBFGW,while halloween:resurrection will likely get the number 8 or 9 spot if that, dont see the problem if it doesnt as it was a horrible horrible sequel, and truly dont deserve much.I dont think full frontal will make it to the top 10,and killing me softly i havent heard much about...but other then that thanks alot for the update once again, and yeah im back.
