View Full Version : Ararat: A Show Of Hands Of Who Will See It
I read JoBlo's review for Ararat, and...wow...just wow. I will definetely be seing this when and if it plays near me. If not, then I'll have to wait for it on video. It's hard for me to articulate how I feel about JoBlo's review and the Armenian genocide or the Holocaust for that matter.
So who else wants to see it?

Absolutely I'll see it. On video, that is, 'cause there's a snowball's chance in Hell of it coming to my crappy theater. It's expected to sweep the Genies (Canadian Oscars).

I will see this(on DVD, DAMN my small theatre). I think the film is important and from what I have read(reviews) it sounds amazing. And the director did the haunting, The Sweet Hereafter.

Wow, that's nice to hear. Incidentally, I wasn't as enthusiastic about the film as some other critics, so like I always say...don't take my word for it... ;)
The IMDB average is 7.8/10 with over 1000 votes, so I guess others are appreciating the story/characters more than I did. Either way though...it's an important movie for people to see and it's nice to hear that some of you will try to check it out.

I'd definetly see it when it comes on video, because the nearest theater I know definetly won't be showing it. Looks like a very interesting movie after what I heard about it.

I also think everyone should read JoBlo Vs. Christoper Null on this film. It is a very interesting read with two brilliant critics facing off. I hope there is another one soon.

Im gonna get it when it comes out, so I can ask my grandma how real it looks. She was like 5 or 6 when she was in one.

EXOTICA was a brilliant, beautiful film that everyone should check out, The Sweet Hereafter was also decent, so I'll have to check out Ararat sometime, most likely on video. Whats really surprising is that Joblo's and Eberts reviews are similar! Down to saying some of the exact same things (although Ebert isnt Armenian)! Interesting...........anyhoo I'll make sure too see it in me lifetime.
