Plot: A popular, yet mean-spirited teenage girl ( Rachel McAdams) wakes up one day to find herself turned into a man in his 30's ( Rob Schneider). Along the way to finding out how she ended up like that (and how to get back into her own body), she discovers how shallow and cruel she's always been.
I might see this film. It looks like an incredibly stupid film, but I am sure it'll be an incredibly funny and incredibly stupid film. Schneider, I must admit, is not one of my favorite comedians, but he can be funny and he certainly is in this film's trailer. I will see a matinee of this one and leave my brain in the lobby. What do you schmoes think?

This will be one of the worst piles of crap ever created...Rob Schnieder is not funny and he never was and never will be. The only way I'll ever see this is if one of my friends decides to pick it up, and in that case I'll probably get wasted because I have no desire to be subjected to such a pathetic film...or so it looks...and I think I'll be correct.

i think this movie looks really funny. IMO, Rob Schneider is really funny (i liked (almost loved) the animal) and the fact that this movie has Anna Farris in it is worth the price of my ticket alone. I will definitely be seein this, the commercials crack me up, the funniest line bein -> "I'm am so lesbo right now!"

I will most likely end up catching this flick. It looks like really, and I stress really stupid fun. Though I think Schnider is running out of projects, as his last film(The Animal) is really far-fetched, as it this one.

I really want to see THE HOT CHICK in theaters.... I saw the preview before JACKASS and laughed my ass off. I can't wait, this should be Rob Schnieder's best movie yet...
I've seen quite a few TV spots for this flick and I think it looks very funny. I LOVE Anna Faris so having her in it is a major BONUS! I enjoyed Deuce Bigalow (7/10) but The Animal (5/10) was very disappointing, despite the lovely Colleen Haskell. That being said I have a feeling The Hot Chick will be the best Rob Schneider flick to date. It's nice going to the theater every once in awhile just to leave your brain at the door and have a blast, and I think The Hot Chick will be perfect for that. I'M THERE!!!

When I went to Harry Potter on the first day I waited in front on the audio doors. There is a little T.V. that shows previews. I saw the prevew for this and thought it looked like the worst movie ever. But after I watched the preview about 20 times I think it might acually be a funny movie. I mean Rob Schnider is pretty funny and I will probably see it opening night. And i'm not joking.

There's going to be a sneak preview on Friday night and if I get the chance I'd like to go. It will be showing at 6:45 at my theater. I think it will be a moronic fun time.

Well, I saw it at the sneak preview tonight and I must say it was absolutley HILARIOUS. I haven't laughed that hard in a long, long time! From the opening shot (which reminded me waaaay too much of one of THE MUMMY movies) to the last frame, THE HOT CHICK doesn't fail to make you laugh. Of course, it did go a little too far a couple of times "Hold it Winona!" (You'll know what I mean when you see it) and "I should have made love to you when I had the chance!" "Father Micowski?" I absolutley loved Anna Faris, she was perfect for the role of April! Rob Schneider was great too, he played a women a bit too well for my liking. My only problem with THE HOT CHICK is that the pace slows down near the end and gets a bit too serious. And what was up with that black girl with the Korean mom, that got real old quick.
I'd probably give it a 7/10. (Maybe and 8/10)
And I liked this much better than THE ANIMAL and DUECE BIGALOW.

Your review 'Horror' doesn't convince me. The film still looks like a one joke premise taken too far. I realize you said it was very funny, but I'm not a fan of Schneider's humor or any of the humor in the same vein. I laughed in Deuce Bigalow, back in the days of extreme teenage immaturity, but its too....BLAH!!! I never saw The Animal, don't plan to either. And although most of the employees at the theater where I work are ecstatic about seeing this movie, I won't be falling in......oh yeah, those are the people who hated Punch-Drunk Love...no thanks. :)

Rob Schneider is back in the Hot Chick. I thought the trailer and the TV spots for this movie were very amusing and I was excited to catch the sneak preview tonight (12/6/02) I liked Rob Schneider in Deuce Bigalow. The Animal was pretty amusing also but I think The Hot Chick is his best film to date. The movie is loaded with laughs. Now remember this is a comedy not an academy award winner. The movie has its share of plot holes but it does deliver the laughs it promises. In this movie most of the gags work at least for me they did. The movie is about the most popular girl at High school who steals earrings that are cursed. This popular high school cheerleader turns into Rob Schneider and the mayhem and fun starts. The movie is hilarious from start to finish. I think this film gets funnier as it goes on and the ending is pretty decent as well. This is not a movie for everyone though. If you like comedies like Deuce Bigalow, Austin Powers, etc. I think you would enjoy the Hot Chick. My Rating 7.5/10

for those that have seen it (and i have not) i have a question... why isn't the story more like "face off"? in other words, why isn't the girl's persona in rob schneider's body and vice versa; rather than the girl waking up as rob schneider's character?
maybe i'm thinking too much, but this is one of the many reasons i can't see this movie right now

The girl wakes up in the body of Rob Schneider, and Rob Schneider wakes up in the body of the girl. The focus of the movie is really on the Rob Schneider in the girl's body is because the girl in Rob Schneider's body is trying to keep a low profile (He's a robber). There are really only two scenes with the girl as Rob Schneider throughout the movie (until the climax). I wish there would have been a few more though. I hope that made some sense.

I saw it last night at a preview screening and thought that it was very funny. It was a lot better than THE ANIMAL and probably on a par with DEUCE BIGALOW. Sandler's cameo was cute; he's actually doing a character that Rob Schneider used to do on SNL, the "you put your weed in there" guy. Fans of Rob's first two movies will also appreciate the appearance of the line "That's a huge bitch!' yet again. I like how Sandler and Schneider have these running jokes that not only recur throughout their movies, but also continue from one movie to another. Sandler has had a pretty busy year with Mr. Deeds, Punch Drunk Love, Eight Crazy Nights, and now his cameo and executive producer credit on this movie. I look forward to Anger Management next year.

Rob makes me laugh. I don't know why. The Hot Chick was stupid, had some deadly dumb parts, and I laughed. I need some brain dead laughs once in awhile, as I haven't gotten around to see Jackass yet.
danmit. it didn't get to my local theatre. and i'm not gonna sit through 2 hours of JLo so i guess i'll go see... i'll get back on that one ;)
Well, I'm off to see THE HOT CHICK, the wonderful "hot chick" of oz---err---nevermind ;). Anna Faris, here I come babe!
OH MY FUCKING GOD!!! This movie was even funnier than I expected it to be and it's the best Schneider movie so far. At first it started out funny but not HILARIOUS, but after awhile it got HILARIOUS and only got better and better as it went on. I haven't laughed this hard at the movies for a long time. The theater was packed with people of all ages, ranging from 5-90. I was surprised to see a lot of elderly people at it, I'd say the audience was pretty evenly split between teens and 45+, with a few little kids spread around the audience. Anyway, the whole theater was cracking up laughing and on the way out I didn't hear one person say it was stupid. I overheard a group of three people say that it was hilarious and that they didn't even think it would be that good. Several people commented about how hard they were laughing, which was pretty obvious because I don't think a second went by without at least one chuckle during the movie. I took my dad to see it and he's 62. I wasn't sure if he'd like it because he couldn't even watch Sorority Boys because guys dressing up as girls is "sick." He also couldn't watch the movie Junior because it was about a guy having a baby which is also "wrong." And he saw two seconds of Kissing Jessica Stein but as soon as the two girls started kissing he said "sick" and got up and left. I didn't really think he would like this movie but he laughed a lot. Afterwards he said that he thought it was hilarious. I'm really glad he liked it but I must say I'm pretty surprised that he enjoyed himself so much.
Oh well, anyway this movie was complete fun from beginning to end. I want to see this AT LEAST one more time in theaters before I buy it on DVD, there's nothing else worth seeing in theaters coming out anytime soon anyway.
This was just a great time. FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY :)! What a fucking blast!
SOLID ENTERTAINMENT!

To sum The Hot Chick up as quickly as possible, I'll say that it is a hilarious film, that entertains non-stop, features terrific characters, very good comedic performances, and some hot women. Sure, some of these things may be superficial, but that main purpose of movies is to entertain, right? And The Hot Chick does this with flying colors.

I saw this Friday night. First off, the theater was damn near empty, which I wasnt expecting since its a "dumb" movie for teenagers and since it was a Friday night and since it was only in one theater at a place that has 16. I must say, I didnt like this movie. I hardly laughed, found myself looking around the theater at other people wondering what the hell they are laughing at, checking my watch, dozing off..... The only thing I liked in the movie, and I was waiting for it the whole time, was the return of "Thats a huge bitch!". I told my cousin before the movie that I hoped they'd do it in this one too since they said it in Deuce and Animal. And finally, damn near the end, they finally did it. I died laughing then, thats the only time I remember actually laughing out-loud in this movie. 4/10 from me.

Yeah, I thought those were pretty funny too, especially "hold it Winona," the whole theater started cracking up at that one but I did hear one person say "I don't get it" and then someone told them "they are poking fun at Winona Ryder because she shoplifted."
I did catch the "that's a huge bitch" line but I didn't find it "that" funny.
I can't even tell you the funniest parts though because it had many. But the pillow fight had me cracking up non-stop and the whole thing at the club was HILARIOUS, especially when he/she ordered drinks, OH MY GOD it was just so funny. I also thought her little brother dressing up in her clothes all the time and putting on her makeup was really funny as well.
I hope to see this one again today and as many times as I can in theaters. What a great time at the movies, fun for all ages.
I saw it again tonight and I still thought it was HILARIOUS. I didn't think it would be as funny because usually comedies aren't the second time around but I laughed my ass off. What a fun time. I'd still like to see it at least two more times in theaters. It was much funnier than I thought it would be and I love Anna Faris to death. So far THE HOT CHICK is one of the funniest movies of the year. What a blast!

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one that found the movie HILARIOUS. It was pure fun. It's nice to go to a movie and just have fun and this movie is perfect for that. Plus, Anna Faris is cute as all hell, her facial expressions kill me.

THE HOT CHICK (2002)
Believe it or not, The Hot Chick is one of the best comedies of the year. It's been awhile since I've laughed so much at the theater. To my surprise, it even held up really well upon a second viewing, which is rare for comedies.
Anna Faris (Scary Movie, Scary Movie 2, May) gives another winning comedic performance here as April, proving she's one of the best young comedic actresses working today. Her facial expressions are absolutely classic. She never fails to make me laugh and I look forward to her future projects. Rob Schneider gives a really fun performance in what is his best comedy to date, not that it was too hard to top Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo (7/10 or B-) or The Animal (5/10 or C).
Overall, The Hot Chick exceeded my expectations and proved to be a real fun time. It was laugh-out-loud funny from beginning to end. I even appreciated its sweet side and its good message, although most people probably won't take it too seriously anyway. This is not a great film by any means, but it is a very fun one. If you just want to have a good time and laugh then you can't do much better than The Hot Chick.

The Hot Chick is just another stupid Rob Schneider comedy, where somehow he becomes transformed or changed into something, this time its the most popular girl in high school. The only thing worse and lamer than a stupid Adam Sandler comedy is a stupid Rob Schneider comedy. Its not surprising since they are good friends, and appear in each other's movies and that the same production company makes these movies. But this stuff just isn't funny. It is just moronic ideas for differet jokes that Schneider can do in various forms: a gigalo, animals and now the hot, popular girl at school. Rachel McAdams plays Jessica the hottest, meanest most popular girl in school, captain of the cheerleading squad, dates(but doesn't have sex) with the quarterback and humiliates all the uncool people at school. Her best friend April is played by Anna Faris of Scary Movie fame...some how she stumbles on a pair of ancient magical earings...and one morning Rob Schneider wakes up as Jessica...his body, but her thoughts etc. You can figure the rest out for yourself...the reason I didn't care for ths film is some things just annoyed me. The Korean mother who is always embarassing her daughter for one. Another is there is this goth/weird type chic who supposedly puts a spell on Jessica at the beginning of the film, but it has nothing to do with the transformation! Also it bothered me that this girl and another rather "large" girl lets say, both of whom have been tortured and humiliated by Jessica over the past...spend the rest of the film helping Schneider and Faris and her other ditsy friends get the real Jessica back. Also, I wanted to see more of the Jessica character acting out as a guy...now granted it wouldn't be a Rob Schneider movie if it was about what happened to the girl as a man, but shel ooked a lot more interesting and funnier as a guy than Schneider does as a girl. Its just that men playing female type roles have been done to death...and we don't see enough of the opposite. Overall, The Hot Chick is just another lame, stupid comedy from the Sandler/Schneider camp about some weird transformation and producing endless jokes that just don't work and aren't funny.

The Hot Chick is a hilarious fun movie. If you're a fan of the Schnieder, Sandler genre of movies you'll love this. If not you'll still find yourself laughing. Schnieder is hilarious in this movie. Possibly better than Deuce Bigalow Male Gigolo and a hell of a lot better than The Animal

Right again. This is exactly why "The Hot Chick" surpassed my expectations, because I thought it was going to be bad due to the negative reviews, plus the unappealing trailers and T.V. spots.
Hmm... so, since you saw it twice, and you had a fun time during both showings... I guess it's fair to assume that the movie holds up in a second viewing, right? That's good to know, I think I might see it again, and take some friends with me.

It held up well for me the second time around, actually, it held up very well, but I guess it all depends on the person. But I laughed just as much the second time around as I did the first time, or at least pretty damn close to it, which definitely surprised me because usually comedies just don't hold up very well the second time around, especially ones like this, but it did. I plan on seeing it again with friends too, hopefully this week.

THE HOT CHICK
Written by Rob Schnieder & Tom Brady
Directed by Tom Brady
Starring Rob Schneider, Anna Farris, Rachel McAdams, and Matt Lawrence
Rating: 7/10
**minor spoilers**
The Hot Chick is a decent comedy that manages to entertain most of the time. Some of the jokes were unfunny and often too gross for my likeing, and I could have done without TWO shots of Schneider's butt. But I found myself laughing at a lot of parts and I also bought the sentimental aspects of the film, which I thought were well done. At first I was thinking 5 or 6 but it got better and it deserves a 7. The funniest part of this movie was the half black/half korean girl and her mom. That stuff cracked me up. This is one of the best comedies of the year (although that's not that hard seeing as this was a bad year for comedy). I recommed waiting for video though.

I thought I was the only one who found that funny, at least here anyway, the audiences I saw it with seemed to find it funny. I laughed every single time that mom was on screen.
10/10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is one of the best comedies i've seen in my life. It's mindless, funny, lite, fun, did i say funny? I don't care what some may say, this is not an oscar movie, and it doesn't try to be 'good' in any extroardinary filmaking way. I LOVED IT!! I swear, i've never laughed harder in my life, in my ENTIRE life!!! I just couldn't stop, i just though everything was so funny and every situation hilarious, even the ones meant to be serious. Oh, yeah mike, anna faris IS hot, very sexy, major turn on. Can't wait to see May, she looks like she gives a good performance in that one, and people may take her seriously. But if not, it doesn't matter 'cause i think she's funny as hell, and i'll watch EVERY single comedy she does next, as well for Rob, he was hilarous. Has this movie made money?, well i think where i live it did because it's the 5th week showing and it was PACKED!!! and every single person leaved satisfiend and with a big happy grin on their faces, me w/ a big smile. And just for that i give this movie a super duper 150%

yeah, those where funny but my fav. part has to be the pissing scene, OMG!! some girls always ask me like "is it really difficult to aim and stuff?'' and i was cracking up all the scene, it was hilarous. and when he looks at the other guy and says 'oh your so good at it' hahahahahaha, i'm cracking up right now, i can't even write. and the guy says, 'wanna take a picture?' hahahaha soooo funny and later when the same guy tells him 'you and me... outside' and the rob goes innocently 'where are we going?'. anyways if you haven't seen the movie then GO, NOW! it's a good time garanteed.
