Could be a good movie with this cast, and I do have a new appreciation for the director after The Ring. If he were doing this after The Mexican, I would be really doubtful :p

The picture is very creepy. This film could be great, whcih I was not expecting. Fro some reason the idea of an adaptation of a Disney theme park ride seemed silly, but this one is going to be great. And Look at that cast! The first three all rock. Now as for the other Disney film, Haunted Mansion, it sounds goofy.

That image is straight out of the amusment park ride. Wish I had some pics of it somewhere. Love that ride! I hope the movie does it justice.. that is, I hope they don't just do a cheesy, low budget flick that's rushed out for the summer. I know, in a way, this will compete with Master and Commander, because both deal with the big ships in a seafaring adventure sort of way, although M&C is NOT a pirate movie. But a lot of the imagery is the same so the average dumb movie-goer won't know the difference. I think that's why Master and Commander is coming out in June in order for it to be released before this one. But Disney may decide to rush things and get theirs out first.

Man I love this ride but come on are there really so few ideas in this world that we have to make movies out of amusement park rides now!

It's like they are saying hey, your ride to work this morning was interesting right, well lets make a movie out of it!

If they want to make a Pirate movie I say go for it but to veil it thinly as an amusment park ride is just silly.

Well, Disney already made a movie based on the singing Country Bears attraction, and they're planning one on the haunted house. I guess they figure why make original movies where you have to build a whole new Disneyland attraction based on it when you can make movies based on attractions that already exist? Pirates does have the best potential... at least it sounds good. But Disney has been dropping the ball a lot lately.

I don't know if making movies based on rides is a good idea, but the cast of the flick sounds good, the pic looks great and creepy, so who knows?
