Hmmm, now here's a topic that requires some serious thought...
Those of you who have seen FAUST (I pray for you all daily, BTW) no doubt remember that hideous scene on the subway (which fit right in with all of the other hideous scenes showcased in that movie), which was capped off by quite possibly the worst delivery of the worst written line of all time: "SHIT! ...we've lost the girl!"

Okay, granted it's not really one-line, but my first choice comes from the god-awful Broken Arrow, directed by the god-awful John Woo, and delivered by two of the most god-awful "thespians" of our time: the god-awful John Travolta, and the god-awful Christian Slater.
Riley Hale: You're out of your mind.
Vic Deakins: Yeah. Ain't it cool?
Riley Hale: I'm serious, Deak, your mind has taken a walk off the map.
Vic Deakins: Maybe. But I'm still gonna kick your ass.
God, they're awful.

I'm sure I've heard worse, but the recent one that immedeately springs to mind is from X-Men and goes as follows:

Do you know what happens to a frog when it gets struck by lightning? The same thing that happens to everything else.
God, it made me drop the film a half point to an even 5, it is such a stupid and awful line delivered simply terribly...Sticks out like a sore thumb...

A lot of them come from Halle Berry in Die Another Day:
"At least we'll die rich"
"That's quite a mouthful"
"Looks like we're going down together"
"When will you take it out ?"

The most hideously-delivered line I've ever heard in a film comes from Larry Clark's TEENAGE CAVEMAN. After one character witnesses another acting a little nuts and, I think, starting to transform into an ugly mutant, she spouts out a line that still haunts my soul: "You're a looner!"
I just about jumped out my bedroom window at that point.
Yeah, Halle Berry in DAD is the single worst written character of all time in a legitimate film.
The number of groaners she had to deliver is really astounding, especially when you consider that Brosnan had his best lines of any of the films.

There was an official list of the worst dialogue and the follwing were in the top ten.
"Suck My Dick" Demi Moore in GI JANE
"I'm King of the World" TITANIC
"I'm not just a walking penis... I'm a flying penis" Charlie Sheen in TERMINAL VELOCITY
"If that was a confession my ass is a banjo" Sean Connery in one of his hideous 80's films that wasn't The Untouchables.
"I heard you always wanted to be a farmer... heres a couple of achers" Arnold Schwazzengerrrrrr in PREDATOR
"It ain't over til the fat lady sings... AND I'M THE FAT LADY" Brain Somebody in Bastards something.
But I think the claims above for Berry as the worst written dialogue character are out of line, when we have Arnold Schwazzenger's brilliant lines in Batman and Robin.
"You're not sending me to the cooler"
"Everybody Chill!"
"The Iceman cometh"
and the favourite piece to Poison Ivy
"We'll be Adam and Eve... il."
Hideous fucking puns, and only another testement to my proposal of feeding Akiva Goldsman to a pack of wolves.

"...chicks love the car..." Chris O'Donnell as Robin in "Batman & Robin."
"But I was going into Toshi Station to pick up some power converters!" Mark Hamill as Luke
Skywalker in 'Star Wars.'
"Yippeee!" Jake Lloyd twice as Anakin Skywalker in "The Phantom Menace."
"I miss you mom. Soooo MUCH!" Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker in "Attack of the

right in the theater after hearing this crap.
Anything Nicolas Cage has said in a movie (other than 'Raising Arizona'). The fact that this

Well, I thought he was good in it (as did a lot of people, seeing as that would then explain why he won). Well, I can't wait to see Adaptation next weekend.
Oh, and I WILL have a nice day. Thank you.

I think Pearl Harbor has some of the worst dialogue I have ever heard. I couldn't tell if I should be laughing or vomiting or cringing.
**Note: dialogue excerpts are based on memory alone and are certainly not verbatim**
Crappy Dialogue #1:
Rafe: Ouch, I'm hurt
Evelyn: Is it your nose?
Rafe: No, I think it's my heart.
Crappy Dialogue #2:
Evelyn: I will never look at another sunset without thinking of you, again.
Crappy Dialogue #3:
Alec Baldwin: If it were me up there, I would crash my plane into as many of japanese bastards as I could.

Can you say....terrible script?

Ok, ok...I'll agree, that there really is no better line for that scene. :D (although I still don't like it.)
If it makes you feel any better, I'll add some others...perhaps not to go *along* with my previous...but to replace as the worst lines I have ever come across.

I liked him in The Rock and Con Air. He played the role given to him the way it should have been played. And, in Face/Off, he was at least WAY BETTER than John Travolta was...
Yes, he was pretty bad in Snake Eyes, though he did do well with that opening phone conversation that lasted 7 minutes or whatever.
I have not seen the other movies you mentioned.
And he was good in Leaving Las Vegas, Family Man, Raising Arizona, Bringing Out the Dead, Kiss of Death, It Could Happen to You, Honeymoon in Vegas, Red Rock West, and Guarding Tess, of the movies I've seen. He also looks to be damn good in Adaptation.
How is he a hack? If anything, he's a bad actor. But I wouldn't say so, it's just that some of his roles have sucked.

Just an opinion. I really haven't liked him in anything but Raising Arizona. He's very wooden, and you can almost see him trying to think of his lines. IMHO.
Saying he was better than John Travolta is like saying Meister Brau beer is better than Milwaukee's Best. When they're both piss poor, it doesn't matter which one is slightly better.

And now for another horrible line (mainly in the delivery):
Switch's delivery of the line, "Our way, or the highway", to Neo in The Matrix.
Gandalf the Grey
12-03-2002, 07:08 PM
How about these gems:
Halle Berry in "Die Another Day"
-Hurry James. If this laser hits me, I'll be half the girl I used to be.
Brendan Fraser in "The Mummy Returns"
-Oh I hate mummies!
Keanu Reeves in "EVERYTHING"
-WHOA!!!!!
I'll try and think of some more at a later date, but these ones really stick out in my head.

This isn't the worst ever, but in Princess Mononoke, there was a part where the heros are trying to recieve a monster's head and return it to him before he killed everybody (or something like that). So the main character gets it and says "Great forest spirit...WE GIVE YOU BACK YOUR HEAD!" It was unintentionally hilarious.
Another one is in the musical Camelot, in which King Arthur says things are peaceful and this is the time to pick flowers. Sir Lancelot replies "Knights...picking...flowers???" but because of his accent it came out "NNAAIIEES...PIHIIN...FOURS???" It was even funnier.

Hah. I was going to say this too!
However, I have to say when you see the film, that line is actually OK because she says "Yo mamma, and she says she's real disappointed in you." -- it's the ad that makes it sound too corny. But yeah, I was cringing throughout Bond and Jinx's first conversation together...
One other quote, Jake Lloyd from Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (as it was on UK tv last night) -- well, virtually any of the monolgue that Lucas makes his pilots do to their R2s... but this one sticks out and makes me want to punch lil Jake:

Oh, and I'd also like to add something that I LOL about every time I think about it, despite it not being in a movie per se.
If anyone has the Episode I DVD - watch the 'making of' documentary, there's a really really funny bit where Lucas shows Spielberg his shitty Droid and Spielberg breaks it's arm and tries to put it back into the socket the wrong way round.
In this scene, they keep alternating with "It's gonna be great." about 50 times to reassure themselves. Pity it wasn't, eh? :D
------
Lucas: "It's gonna be great."
Spielberg: "It's gonna be great."
Lucas: "It's gonna be gre-"
