Ahh, the first horror movie I ever saw. It holds a special place in my heart. It scared the living shit out of me when I first saw it. I still love it now, I think it's probably the best werewolf movie out there besides Ginger Snaps.

Sorry guys but I didn't like this film. I'm not much of a werewolf fan and on top of that I hate children in horror movies. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Well the original King novella was about a kid in a wheelchair, so there's no avoiding having him in the movie http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif I liked the film, Gary Bussey was great, as was the girl who played the sister.... the only things that dissapointed me was some of the images they left out from the book.....I kinda wish King and Romero would have done this movie ala Creepshow style..... and the only other thing that disturbed me was the fake looking werewolf....7/10

Silver Bullet is a superior exercise in lycanthropy. Perhaps its most noteworthy attribute is the touching subplot involving the relationship between Marty and Jane. Their bond doesn't come off as devastingly sappy, which could have very easily happened. The chemistry is there and their many quarrels/petty disputes are convincing. Two things troubled me about the film. UNO) I couldn't pinpoint the relevance of Jane's narration. What purpose did it serve? They could at least throw in some sort of wraparound story that informs the viewer of the siblings' fates a few years down the line. Her commentary is used sparingly and the plot doesn't really benefit from it. DOS) The werewolf effects are shoddy for the most part. As a matter of fact, the creature design has more in common with a grizzly bear than a werewolf. Speaking of our villain, I have to take a moment to applaud Everett McGill for his menacing performance as Reverend Lowe. The guy creeped me out.
My rating-4/5

Ya know i was very disturbed when i read a review of the upcoming DVD of this great film and all the reviewer talked about was how awful it was. He even used a reference of how Roger Ebert thought that when it came out that he believed the movie was intentionally awful. Who the hell listens to Ebert anyway? He gave The Terminator one half of a fucking star! He said the story sucked, it was unbelieveable, the acting was awful, the dialouge was putrid, the monster looked fake, the new wheelchair was stupid, etc. I have loved this movie since i was little. It has to be my all-time favorite werewolf movie! Then again, i havent seen the Howling or Wolfen yet. Ginger Snaps was very entertaining too! I am a big Stephen King fan. Dont let me go into how much Tommy Lee Wallace's adaptation of IT scared the shit outta me when I was a kid (and I'm going to being reading the 1100 page novel in a couple of days to see if it scares me now as much as the film did when it first came out when i was four). I just began reading King's book. My mom is a huge fan of his and still has almost all of the original Hardcover releases. I have read Christine, Misery, and Pet Semetary and loved them! I can't choose a best one between the three! I'm also a big fan of their film adaptations. Creepshow was another movie I for the most part enjoyed minus the Father's Day and plant stories, and I REALLY enjoyed Rose Red except for its finale. I can't wait to read the book the accompanies it. I just won a bet with my mom and she has to buy me "The Cycle of the Werewolf," and I can't wait to read it. I LOVE this movie and I couldn't believe the guy's review. Nice to know I'm not the only one who loves it. And the wolf I think is awesome in this flick. He was always my second favorite werewolf (My all-time favorite was the werewolf in "The Monster Squad"). However, I'm not gonna buy this film on DVD right away because I think $24.95 for a DVD of a film that has NO SPECIAL FEATURES is bullshit! God I HATE HATE HATE Paramount!

SILVER BULLET (1985) Directed by Daniel Attias, based on the Stephen King novella “Cycle Of The Werewolf”. Gary Busey is excellent as the drunken uncle of crippled teen Corey Haim (during his pre-drug days), who discovers that a werewolf is responsible for the grisly murders plaguing their small town. Megan Follows (who is terrific) co-stars as Haim’s older sister. The werewolf’s identity is revealed early on in the film, but there is still enough suspense and gore to satisfy fans of this subgenre. My grade: B+

Right on. I love the hatred, sorrow and seething anger that Brady's father seems to administer towards the werewolf and to the townsfolk who are hellbent on coordinating their own "find the beast now!" task force. Why we didn't get to see Brady's bloody, beautiful mutilated remains, who knows. But that is my only quibble with this otherwise excellent tale of lycanthrope affliction.

Seriously I think your right Steve-O. The whole scene where he is putting the money on the dresser for her stocking made me feel all fuzzy inside.
