Mine would definitely have to be between mid-80's to early 90's.
The artwork during this period was simply goregous. X-men, Spiderman, Superman, just to name a few. The drawings were so nice! Man, i fuckin' HATE this neo crap they're doin, what the FUCK is goin' on???
Anyway, i wish artists would go back to my favorite format, so i could actually enjoy reading a comic book again :(
I enjoyed the 90's too. All the Manga style for books now is good for some but it just doesn't have much visual appeal for me. Joe Mad's manga style art during his X-Men run was probably the only one I enjoyed...I didn't like it at first but I kind of missed it when he left because I really liked how he made the Onslaught story look. Some of the art is getting confusing too even though I have gotten used to it I guess but what I'm refering to is the art in books such as Alias and Elektra(Marvel Knights) when it first started. They had/have a rough looking art style. I enjoyed Mike Deodato's Elektra more. I really enjoyed Mark Bagley's Amazing Spiderman run and I was really glad to see he was back doing Spider-man again with Ultimate Spider-man. That guy draws one of the coolest looking Venom's. One thing I was always curious of was why everyone says that Jack Kirby art was so great. Don't get me wrong I think his art was really good for the time he was in the business but I've seen much more appealing style(example the 90's artists) that jumped out at me more then the really old Kirby stuff. I guess they are seeing something in the art I'm not.

My personal favorite era is the late 70's. The work that George Perez and John Byrne did then still stands as a Gold Standard for me.
I also love the late 60's and early 70's, when Neal Adams and Barry Windsor-Smith ruled the roost.
I have a real fondness also for the late 80's/early 90's, when Jim Lee, Marc Silvestri and Portacio were active, especially their X-titles work.
