Same here. During viewing I enjoyed it...but after leaving the theater, I became more "eh" on it...until about a year later I had achieved "ugh". And now...it just frightens me.

Also I didnt like The Cable Guy on first viewing but the movie has grown on me for some reason. The only thing is I wish they wouldnt have held back. I think why people reacted badly to it was because it didnt know what it wanted to be at times: was it dark or goofy.

What would have happened if it went all the way to the dark side?

I also liked that you never really found out what was up with the Jim Carrey character

When Nature Calls was HORRIBLE. Pet Detective was hilarious.

The Truman Show was outstanding, and The Majestic was good.

The Cable Guy was not good.

Some of his big movies provided less laughs than others, but all have provided laughs. (Oops. And his dramatic performances are all good too.)

The worst Jim Carrey movie moments were in the following, lesser known movies:

Rubberface (or so I hear from a friend)
Earth Girls are Easy
Once Bitten


[Oh, and The Itsy Bitsy Spider (where he plays "the spider") is great. It's an animated short that plays before the movie Bebe's Kids (7/10). Check it out.]

I liked Earth Girls Are Easy. I cant really say which is the worst because I havent seen any of his movies in years. methinks It's time to give them a little rewatch. I remember enjoying them all (even the cable guy)

Oooh.. Diss. Nature Calls was much better than Pet Detective.
Truman show as outstanding, Majestic was great, The Cable Guy was his second best, behind Dumb and Dumber.

I will have to say his worst moment was the whole film called "Me, Myself, and Irene."

I have to agree that Grinch was a movie I disliked from all his films. Not that he did a crappy job, I got pissed when they threw in a love intrest. I was like WTF?!?! When I saaw the movie....I had to go back & re-read the story so that I wasnt losing my mind. And for the earlier mention of Earth Girls Are Easy was probably an unforgettable film of his. U gotta figure that he was STILL an unknown then. Another one that comes to mind that may be considered bad but was pretty good was the movie he did with Laren Hutton, Once Bitten.
I have enjoyed Jim's films but the only one I havent seen yet is The Majestic....

I think I am the only person in the world who loved The Grinch. I also loved The Truman Show-(he got a golden globe for that one!) ....and well....I'm just not one for comedy much, but I did like him in the Mask when i was younger (although it's annyoing now) but the worst by far would have to be.....
