That reminds me of PT's video diary on the Magnolia DVD. He said he didn't want the tension of disappointing viewers after Boogie Nights, so he made Magnolia immediately. I think he fell into his own trap...two excellent, HIGHLY acclaimed movies...he could take his time right? People wouldn't think he would make a bad movie...he could take his time...wrong.

I think my biggest problem with Punch-Drunk Love was that it *wasn't* Magnolia (unfair, I know).

It's more disdain and annoyance than hatred. It's impossible for me to truly hate any film w/ Julianne Moore. I just couldn't resist the opportunity to pileon a little more. ;)
