I know I'm going to get flamed for this but... I don't care.

Here goes... I didn't think it was that bad - DON'T KILL ME!!!!!
It stayed reasonably faithful to the first movie (can't comment on the book because I haven't read it), and the acting wasn't ridiculously bad.
And there were decent amounts of gore.
Please, did ANYONE else enjoy this?

The reason I don't like PS 2 is because the first one was about family love gone bad, not slaughter house rules. There is something nasty about the plot. Drew's stepdad is beyond reproach, and the acts of violence are not what the original intended to have happen.
Gore is not going to save a film that has its feet firmly planted in seediness.

Perhaps the one reason it didn't totally suck was Clancy Brown as the sheriff, who was funny, and a sick bastard all at once. What the script calls him to do is not enjoyable.
Plus, I couldn't sympathize with Anthony Edwards, or Edward Furlong. Even an action/horror like ALIENS had sympathetic characters.

I would agree that the plot IS extremely nasty, but I think that's what make it stick in my head as an effective horror movie.

It's been a while since I saw this, and I remember that I kinda liked it too. Clancy Brown in particular. Of course it's not that good compared to the first one, but enough to satisfy me, and that's all I wanted.

I would usually be loath to totally dismiss a movie featuring both The Ramones and The Jesus & Mary Chain on the soundtrack...but i'm gonna have to make an exception here. I liked the first movie a lot. I think it's one of the more faithful King adaptations (it's gotta be a tough job trying to whittle down a 400+ page book into a 2 hour movie). It was disturbing, scary and well acted. The second movie was just dire. Clancy Brown was good as always but it lacked everything that made the first movie work. I cared about the characters in the first movie. About 30 minutes into the second one I wouldn't have cared if the ground had opened up and swallowed the whole cast of characters (in fact I had my fingers crossed that this would happen). I'm gonna give it 1/5. And that's just for The Mary Chain and The Ramones on the soundtrack. An awful, awful movie.

I love this movie. Haven't seen it in years but I really liked the character of Gus. I think its better than the original. The killer baby Gage got on my nerves. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Bad movie, but Clancy Brown is great in it, and it's fun to watch just for the weird vibe it gives off.

The guy that played Gus in this was hilarious, it was funny when he killed that kid with a motorbike.
