Man, this is the best bear film I've ever seen! Cool parts like when a kid has his leg ripped off! Or flying arms! This is ONE gory PG-rated flick!

Isn't it great?! I love Grizzly !

An eighteen foot tall Grizzly bear ?! Sweet Jesus! The part where the kid who is playing with the rabbit gets his leg ripped off is extraordinary, I loved that scene

I thought the whole thing was cool despite some shoddy camera work

Yeah, the part with the kid getting his leg ripped off wasn't roo shabby at all. The DVD is not that great. There are NO extras. But Grizzly is still one of my favorites!

If ya wanna see a really cool, scary, campy, and bloody as hell PG-rated bear flick I'll recommend John Frankenheimer's PROPHECY (1979). :)

I have. It's pretty good, but Grizzly kicks Prophecy's *SS! I'm sad to say that the DVD of THAT wasn't very good. But Prophecy's worth watching. And don't SAY IT! Everyone knows about the exploding sleeping bag scene!!!

I've got some good news, and I've got some fuckin great news. The good news is that Sriek Show decided to release a new DVD of this, so we get widescreen and a menu this time! Although, Ihope they don't misframe or cut it, like some of their other releases. The fuckin great news is, IT'S A FUCKING 2 DISC SPECIAL EDITION!!!! With interviews, commentary, probably a trailer, and a documentary, and may be more!!! YAY!!!! Although, I hope they don't put out a bunch of unrelated extras like they did with Just Before Dawn... people who own the old DVD hang on to it, because they might cut some parts as seen with Hell High and Just Before Dawn... I hope they don't but they might. And they may fuck up the framing like some of their releases...

I love this movie man! I got to watch it tonight now cause you just turned me on with this conversation so it is all your fault! It will be the movie I watch before I turn 31 and I was wondering what movie that should be, now I know. I can get drunk and watch that poor kid loose his leg and someone loses their head too right? Hehhehe I am so there!:D
I will also blame you for giving me the desire to pull out my Kiss greatest hits CD.

I should take a big ass drink whenever that old dude says "IT'S NOT A BEAR, IT'S A GRIZZLY!" :p

I read Shriek Show is releasing Grizzly in 1.85:1 which is not the OAR. It should be 2.35:1!

Yeah, the old DVD is the maximum in shitty. It must be the original aspect ratio which is 2:35:1

MadmanMARZ

I read the book of Grizzly a long time ago and have been wanting to see this movie for years...I did not know it was released on DVD, and from those pics bear posted, I think I really need to pick a copy up. Looks like solid b-movie entertainment.:D

It is a really good movie, just don't take it that seriously. I finally go tthe new DVD, it's fucking awesome. The new transfer was awesome, and there's an added scene in there. I also recently got the book for it, it's an excellent read. It's a lot gorier than the movie, which is cool. I think that this and Alligator are the best post Jaws killer animal flicks. It's hard to say which of the 2 are better.

I remember the first time I saw this movie. It was at a Drive-In, possibly during it's initial release which means I was around 10 or 11 years old when I first saw it. It definitely was very suspensful and had it's share of scares that first viewing. Looking back, it's hard to believe it was rated PG. It's the same way with JAWS (a much, much better movie that I enjoy much, much more), which I also first saw when I was around 10, but it was in a theater, which I prefer. It's hard to believe it was rated PG.
