Ugh.
Can someone please tell me why/how that zombie head could fly through the air by itself?

How come some characters turned into zombies immediantly, others it took a long time.

How come some of the zombies could move lightning-fast (like those stupid kung-fu zombies near the beginning), while other zombies moved just as slowly as the ones from the Romero films?

And the lead scientist guy, man o man, I haven`t seen acting so over-the-top since "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective".

I rented this cause it said it was directed by Lucio Fulci. Only after watching it and checking the IMDB did I realise he left the production and some other guy finished it.

LOL!
Another satisfied ZOMBI 3 viewer. Yeah, it sure sucks the big one. The deal with that one is Fulci stepped away early in the production and legendary shitty horror filmmaker Bruno Mattei took over. Now, if you've seen ANY of Mattei's films, you'll know why ZOMBI 3 sucks so bad.
In any case, I recommend NOT watching RATS, HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD, NIGHTMARE CITY, among others. They all suck just as much as ZOMBI 3 and some have the same kind of shitty, burnt-oatmeal-faced-kung-fu-usin'-machinegun-shooting zombies as your flick.

I don't know; I consider HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD to be a guilty pleasure of mine. It's so over the top that I just gotta love it.

However, I do agree with everybody else...ZOMBI 3 does suck, big time.

i didnt hate it. it wasnt great but it was ok. aint seen it in a while but i might watch it again soon. as 4 y it took sum longer than others 2 change i think this happens in 90% of zombie movies 2 tell the truth. take braindead 4 example. it took lionels mum like 2 days and the nurse was like instant.

I don't think I hated it like most people, but I was lured to it by Fulci's name on the cover.

I thought it had some good scenes, now if you want pure shite try Zombi 4:After Death

I was wondering if anybody has seen this sequal to Fulci's "Zombie".

I heard that birds attack humans and spread the virus. DO the birds attack? And how are the bird attacks?

:D

Well, Zombie 3 isn't a very good movie as most will tell you but it is very gory and it has it's moments. I don't recall birds attacking but there might be (?). Lucio Fulci actually directed most of this movie. The 4th Zombie flick is much worse though and unless you're a serious zombie fan (like myself), don't watch it.

"Zombi 3" is MST3K worthy. I started another topic about it recently.

Yes, the birds "attack", but only after they all fall to the ground dead. Then they start to come back to life and attack. It`s only in one scene.

Thanks Elgyn!

If I enjoyed Zombie Flesheaters, would I like this one?

Hmmm.....tough to say. I like Fulci`s original "Zombi", but this "Zombi 3" has absolutely nothing to do with the old movie (except, of course, they both have zombies).

The original had some unintentionally funny scenes, but "Z3" is just laugh-out-loud hilarious in how dumb and inept it is.

Hmm, thanks again Elgyn.

I think I'll give this one a miss. ;)

I tried searching for the older topic I made about "Zombi 3", but for some reason I can`t find it.

Out of the horror genres I consider Zombie movies to be my favourties, and when I saw this little beauty in my local video shop I just had to rent it - I mean it was called Zombie Flesh Eaters 2 and it had Lucio Fulci's name on it - what more could I ask??

How wrong I was.........I consider this film an insult to my backside, as I had to sit on it for the entire duration of this movie....Yet Another string to Vipco's illustrious bow. ;)

LOL, what an awesome quote! They should write that on the box for the movie, you know how movie boxes have quotes from critics.

K, I've merged the 2 ZOMBI 3 threads together so there's no confusion...or maybe this 'll make it even more confusing? I don't know. Either way, it's done...:D

Sorry, but I MUST resurrect this thread one last time...
OK, so yesterday I went downtown to meet a buddy for lunch. After we did so, we quickly went across the street to a couple of stores, one of which was a little place that sometimes has a whack of DVDs for $20 a piece, no tax (me thinks they fell off the back of a truck if you know what I mean). Anyhow, much to my surprise, they had a whole shitload of rare italian horror flicks, which I swooped up in a second...one of them was ZOMBI 3. I don't know why...the cover was just calling to me...I knew it was shit, I just had to have it.
So, I brought it home and later that night, the wife and I sat down to watch this atrocity. BUT before doing so, we indulged in a little...uhm...well, we invited Mary Jane over, let's just say. Man, the 90 minutes which followed were a blast. This movie is SO much better while being slightly (or largely) f**ked up! I noticed a couple of scenes which were just too cool and the rest of it was just too funny. I'm sorry, but I'm keeping this one, and it's gonna be a party favorite for a long time!

LOL, I was a little 'inebriated' when I saw it, and the head scientist guy had me rolling with laughter! Maybe it`s the dubbing, but the guy was just so over-the-top it was hilarious!

And how about the blond guy with a mullet and glasses? That guy should be in more movies.

Also.....
***SLIGHT SPOILER [NOT LIKE IT EVEN MATTERS]***

How about the scene where the girl falls into the water, and the guy pulls her out only to find she`s been eaten alive (by zombie fish, I suppose).
Then seconds later he JUMPS RIGHT INTO THE WATER AND SWIMS AWAY, with no harm done!

I checked it out about a month ago... Nice gas station explosion and i think this is the first time i have seen zombie birds outside of the Resident Evil games appear on film.

Other than that... i don't have much to say about it.

Hey I thought Nightmare City was pretty entertaining. Good no not really, but a hoot to watch. I have Zombi 3 on DVD, but I still haven't watched it, I've seen maybe 10 minutes of it, but I haven't gotten around to the rest. I do like how they made one of the zombies on the cover look Freddy Krueger-esque though.

Dude, if you thought NIGHTMARE CITY was a hoot, you'll adore ZOMBI 3. Trust me!

I've already gushed over this one , so i'll just say it's at the top of the dung heap in the realm of inept filmmaking , the horror / zombie genre in particular . I mean that as a compliment , it knows it blows harder than J Jonah Jameson but it doesn't care , it throws all traditional moviemaking standards out the window and spits on them , i like that spirit , it's what seperates it from some other inept creations .

After watching the interview of Claudio Fragasso ( Zombie 4 , Troll 2 ) on the region 1 dvd , this is the guy that should get all the credit for this classic cinematic creation . Bruno Mattei sounds like he was in the background most of the time , and CF was the one doing all the work ( the scenes Fulci had nothing to with ) . He even admits he's one of the worst filmmakers out there , and he realizes Z3 ( zombie flesheater 2 in europe ) is delightfully awful , but there's no doubt his terrific sense of self deprecation keeps him going in spite of all that . He's just as cheesy looking as i thought he would be , but much cooler and knowledgeable than i anticipated in an interview setting .

I admire this guy for standing behind this film , some other prissy director would have went into hiding , not CF , he took the heat and explained himself effectively . He's not proud of it , and he's not ashamed of it , but he realizes the zombie craze made him a couple of bucks in the 80's so he's not going to try to deny he had anything to do with , just be thankful he got the opportunity , look back and laugh , and not take his exploits in horror land to seriously .

This is one of my favorite Italian zombie movie cheesefests , right along side Nightmare City ( City of the Walking Dead ) , Night of the Zombies ( Hell of the Living Dead , featured a zombie kid , maybe a first in a horror film ) , and Zombie 4 ( also directed by Claudio Fragasso ) .

Kung fu, machine gun firing, oatmeal faced zombies huh....

I have to see this flick. I have zombi and thought it was pretty good but none the less I must see this movie now.

Kind of like when I first heard of Killer Klowns From Outer Space, I just have to see it.

Ah , KKFOS another cult classic , filled with wondrous visuals and uncanny inventiveness ( cotton candy cocoons ? Brilliant )

You're right crumb , how could i forget that one , duh . Allright , let's put it this way , it was the first film that had a zombie child actually bite someone ( did they actually show it , i can't remember now . I think they show him ready to attack , then they cut away to the soldiers ) , in NOTLD the girl stabbed the mother with a garden tool . Regardless , zombie children were always taboo in american horror ( with the exception you pointed out ) , but Italian filmmakers never shied away from it .

I have a correction , i read an interview that Fragasso did back in 98 , and at the time he was still trying to blame Zombie 3 on Mattei and Fulci . It wasn't until recently , when he realized that Z3 had a minor cult following that he decided to take credit for the film ( little snibbler , je knows if he claims to have contributed more than Mattei , there is more money to made via DVD sales ). It's rumored he contributed to at least 40 percent of the screen time that's in the final cut .

The guy is still cool , but it's pretty low what he did to his friend Mattei , come on now , take credit for the films you make , even if you think they blow .

Yeah gluttony , this is one heck of a fun romp through zombieville , you're going to bust a rib when they start imitating bruce lee on steroids . I love that sped up frame rate , fucking hilarious . You just can't make a film this bad , this good on purpose , i think i said this before , but , it's accidental genius . This is nothing like Zombi , everything goes in this one , it's insane , but oh so entertianing . Don't watch it in a critical frame of mind , just sit back and let Fragasso , Fulci , and Mattei take you on a magically delicious horror ride . And , yes there is some excellent gore effects in this one , and some tense moments , contrary to popular belief . Philipino zombies , i'm laughing as i write this Nothing against the fine people of the Philipines , but there is something that cracks me up about it .

If you like this one , then you have to check out Zombie 4 , just as ludicrous , but just as entertaining .
