I REALLY want to see this movie, but I'm not sure if I want to outright buy it.Or rent it first to see if I enjoy it.

I know there are three stories with a stray cat linking them together. One story is called the ledge.About a guy walking the ledge of a building several stories up.

Should I buy this? Or should I rent it first and see if I like it?

P.S. If you've seen it please include how much gore and T&A there is.

I caught Cat's Eye on TV just recently, so I can't really say whether or not it's spilling over with sex and blood, but I can tell you that it's halfway decent. James Woods is probably the best thing about the entire film. He's in the first vignette about a guy who seeks the help of a special agency to drop his smoking habit. He doesn't realize how far the company will go to see to it that nicotine never enters his body again. There are some nice plot twists here, and suspense actually makes an appearance. The second tale concerns a man who is practically forced to take a stroll all the way around a rather tall building. Of course, he has to do so on the ledge. There are plenty moments of tension when our antagonist's equilibrium is thrown for a loop, but this story feels out of place, as it hardly falls within the genre. Plus, none of the characters are particularly engaging. The last act of this anthology stars Drew Barrymore as a girl who swears that she is being terrorized by a mini-monster at night. Obviously, her parents don't take her too seriously until the conclusion. This one is well-paced and entertaining, but at times, I had a hard time distinguishing it from a Disney effort.

All in all, I'd say give this flick a shot. It never grows tedious, and there are even some amusing nods to Stephen King interspersed throughout (such as the main feline being chased by Cujo in the opening sequence).

My rating-3/5

Quitters INC. and The Ledge are both stories adapted from King's short story anthology's (can't remember wich ones....he has 3 or 4)...The General was written just for the film. King did all the screenplay's. the acting is good, and the story's are tight.

Unlike the last reccomendation I gave you, I'm almost sure I won't let ya down on this one BB http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif

Fortunately we have another 'yea' vote http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Preatty good flick. I liked the story about the dwarf who steals the air from little kids at night the best. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif I dont know if Id buy it though. Its got virtually no gore. Maybe just one chopped off head...but you hardly see it. The stories are good though. I think a stephen king fan would appreciate it the most. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif

I have that movie on VHS. If you're looking for horror look somewhere else. And if you're looking for gore and T&A again don't even watch it. But if you want to be entertained with some sort of dark comedy than check it out it ain't bad. There are some elements of comedy and also it makes me laugh because most of the situations are pushed to the extreme and i can't help but say to myself "oh my god, how could things and people be like that? How could it come to this?!". I do like that movie but it is not horror from my point of view. You can only feel a little tension in a couple of spots and that's all. I recommend you rent it before buying it. Personnaly i like the movie and i think that the three stories are good. But i think it's that kind of movie that not everyone would like.

By the way, sorry for my english, i know it's not perfect.

The General is horror....and a teensy bit of gore....

A good anthology film. I actually liked this more than Creepshow. Although that film definately had a lot more gore (done by the talented Tom Savini), I like these three stories than the ones in Creepshow. The first story, Quitters Inc., had a good performance by James Woods and an eerie ending that gave me a little spook. The second one, The Ledge, has some good suspense, nice effects, and a good performance from Robert Hays (who starred in Airplane). The General was an okay horror story, with decent effects (although, in my opinion, I liked this one the least).

Didn't like this one. At all. I generally don't like anthology films though. I understand these are Stephen King shorts strewn together. It doesn't really make sense what the relevance of the cat is. Just a poor device to connect all three stories. Quitters Inc. is the best of the three stories but even that felt more goofy than anything. Didn't make much sense why this mafioso style company would go to such great lengths to make sure their customers didn't smoke. The General was too kiddyish for my liking. Overall it's one of the more bottom of the barrel King entries I've seen. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.
