Anyone seen this? I was kind of disappointed in this. With a cast like that, they could've done a lot more. I haven't read the original Lovecraft story, but I guess they didn't use it that much.

I really like this movie. It's by Stuart Gordon who directed Re-animator and From Beyond and Fortress to name a few. I hope you checked out the unrated version.

I'm pretty sure I saw the unrated version...What does it have that the R-rated doesn't have?

It is based very loosely on H.P. Lovecraft's "The Outsider", actually a better term would probably be inspired by.

Not a bad movie though, if you see it get the unrated version and I agree with the Combs/Crampton cast I was expecting more but oh well. Probably one of the recent Full Moon releases that didn't involve fuckin puppets http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif

Castle Freak is my favorite Full Moon flick. Mainly because it doesn't have the appearance of a Full Moon flick. The scenery is lush and effective, the special effects are realistic and unsettling, and the acting is credible. Then again, how could the acting not be credible with Combs and Crampton teaming up once again?

It was fairly good and I appreciate the fact that it was really shot in Italy, it adds a lot of atmosphere I think.
It was really gory and I was a bit sad when you know what happend to Combs at the end.
