Unfortunately a lot of you does not know this outstanding spanish movie from Ballegero ( not sure )
It is really really somber and dark.
Don't expect a Hollywood type - of - ending with this gloomy film !!!
There is really a hopelessness feeling throughout the whole movie.
A must - see film, Amenabar is not the only gifted spanish director.

Sounds quite cool Jason, I dig most spanish horrorflicks I've seen so far, especially EL DIA DE LA BESTIA which is the best apocalypse-shit movie I've ever seen.

Has the tape arrived?

I haven't seen the nameless. But, your comparison to seven and the fact that you say not to expect a typicall "hollywood-type-ending" in the Nameless seems to imply that you thought Seven had a typicall ending. I would strongly beg to differ.

THE NAMELESS is one of the best horror films of the past 10 years. Easily better than JEEPERS CREEPERS, FROM HELL, JASON X, and most other American made horrors that have gotten fans excited recently...Like that other contender for "most disturbing movie in recent memory" AUDITION, this is well written, directed, acted, and has the sheen of style and professionalism not normally seen in pictures dealing with this sort of Grand Guignol nihilism. The depressing ending pulls no punches, of course. MIRAMAX owns the North American theatrical release rights to this one, and have threatened a remake. Knowing the Weinsteins tendencies to sit on a good thing 'till it's fire has gone out, expect to see an official direct to VHS/DVD release sometime in early 2009.

The Nameless is actually an adaptation of the novel by British horror scribe Ramsay Campbell. I'm dying to see this movie as i'm a huge fan of his books. Anyone know if it's due a R1 or R2 DVD release anytime soon?
