Has anyone ever seen or heard of a film called Screamers? I saw it once as a kid but now it seems to have dissapered off the face of the planet. I cant really remeber what its about but theres something to do with these little metal things that burrow beneath the ground and home in on heartbeats.
Any suggestions anyone?

Isn't this the movie with Peter Weller? I've been looking for this also.

My memory of it is foggy as well. I don't think it was too embarrassing. It didn't really captivate me, though. It was too much sci-fi for my tastes.

This was actually a fun little sci fi flick. You can buy a used copy from amazon.com if you really want it.

Them multitude of screaming robotic kids was stuff that nightmares are truly made of...
I thought SCREAMERS an unexpected gem of a film. Peter Weller is at his best in these sort of things; more reaction than acting - ala - ROBOCOP. Interesting, thought provoking science fiction in my opinion...

I thought this was a pretty good flick. I think it was about soldiers on a different planet. They were fighting a war, but now it's over. So the soldiers try to get off the planet and avoid the "screamers", robots that they themselves built in order to to use for the war. But now they're growing more sophisticated (smarter, deadlier, harder to notice). The film had good effects, the action wasn't too shabby, and peter weller is good as the lead.

This movie is okay - not a classic by any means, but not bad either.
