I don't know if there's a thread done about her already but I just want to ask, what does everyone think of Sarah Michelle Gellar?

I know some people will disagree with me but I think she is a very good actress. She convinced me in Cruel Intentions, she made me feel sorry for her in I Know What You Did Last Summer and I love Buffy! So many people at my school complain about her nose and her relationship with Freddie Prinze Jr., I think they're just jealous. She's very pretty and she's packed with potentials!

So please, give SMG a break and support her. That's what she needs, support from her fans.:)

well, sarah michelle gellar is definately my favorite actress. i love buffy and i think she does it well. i have liked her in every movie (not saying i have liked every movie that she has done, but i like her in every movie) and she is just amazing to me to watch. i know a lot of people don't like her, but i do, and i will for a long time.

How would you know if she was a bitch in real life? Sarah Michelle Gellar is the hottest actress around right now, I love her! I have too say I agree, to an extent- I love Buffy, it's my favourite show, but SMG's not the best thing about it and they could have got 100s of actress's who could of played the part as well as her.

I think it would be a mistake for her to leave buffy as she has not been proved as a money drawing movie star (her only real hit has been scooby doo right? I suspect that would have done the same business with or with out her)

She is very obviously conceited and pretentious and a not very pleasant person. It's clear if you watch her for any length of time in any situation. She also doesn't impress me w/ her acting. She was dreadful (as was everyone else in the cast not named "Reese") in Cruel Intentions. She's a ham and an arrogant one at that.

I liked her in "Cruel Intentions" and "Scooby Doo" (thought she parodied the Daphne character very well), and thought she was just another likeable New-Age Brat-Packer until she made a quote in a magazine a few months ago that completely put me off her.

When asked what she thought about Buffy fans who'd taken up Aerobics, Martial Arts exercise and sensible diet to aspire to be more like her, she replied:

"How can these people possibly hope to look like me? I work out five hours a day. I have my own private gym. I have a nutritionist and a dietician planning my meals for me. I have skin therapy once a week. There's no way these working-class people could even hope to get in the same condition as I am, ever." (I'm synopsising what she said.)

She may have just been being un-diplomatic, but considering how many of her fans read that interview she deserves a slap across her skin-therapied face for crushing their hopes like that. Shame on her.

The ironic thing is, I have a feeling that was her crack at modesty. Trying to say that "Even I wouldn't look like me if not for all the extra work going into it." However, she clearly is too filled with herself to even be able to successfully feign lack of ego.

I don't dislike her. I think she photographs well. I like her honesty and she has been honest to the point of hurting her career which I admire.

Truthfully, I don't know her so I don't know if she's a bad person or a good person either way. I can't form that kind of opinion about someone just from some paraphrased quotes or TV interviews. I did lose respect for her when she married Freddie Prinze Jr but since their marriage has no bearing on my life I'd have to be a total tool to let it bother me for more than 2 seconds.

I don't think her acting is the best but it's not terrible. I wish she hadn't been in the Scooby Doo movie but if they had put a chimp in the Daphne role I would have been disappointed in the chimp.

She's very attractive. I'll admit that I liked her better a few years ago before she lost, in my opinion, too much weight. She's still very pretty though.

I also think she is a very talented actress. I'm a huge fan of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and over the course of the first six seasons she has succeeded in expressing a surprising number of facets to the character without ever hitting a false note (if you ignore her singing in the musical episode that is...I think I detected a couple of bum notes there). She was very good in Cruel Intentions, which is the only feature film i've seen her in.

As for what she's like in real life. I've read mixed reports. Some say she's sweet, intelligent and funny. Some say she's a shallow bitch. I don't think that it's possible to know what any celbrity is truly like via the public persona that they project during interviews and public appearances. Personally i'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt.

I'll say one thing though. She has a fucking rank taste in men.

Agreed.:D Actually I like her a lot. I think that she is a fine actress (she has impressed me time and again on Buffy...especially in the episode "The Body") and could have a promising career ahead of her if she chooses a little more wisely. But I really don't care what kind of person she is, it doesn't affect me(I would have a problem if she were, say, a psychopath but just a conceited bitch? No...) ;)

Because she knows she's on camera when these things are done. It's easy to picture her being a bitch. She grew up on TV (All My Children) and has been spoon-fed all her life.

Oh hell yeah, a big YAY! from me. She has proven herself again and again on Buffy, it'll be a shame to see it go. It would be good if she could prove hersefl as much in a dramatic role on the big screen, but I think her work has been great. She rocked in Cruel Intentions, was adorable in the over-looked Simply Irresistible, put her attitude to its best use in The Harvard Man, was one of the best things about I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scream 2, and even though Scooby Doo missed the mark, she was still decent in it, and i'll be seeing the sequel. Even though Buffy has gone, at least she has 4 more movies on hand, all scheduled for next year. Yahoo! She seems like a nice person, and she's a cutey. YAY again!

After entertaining me for seven seasons on Buffy, plus giving us one of the most memorable kiss scenes in the history of film in Cruel Intentions, how could I not give her a yay? She's a very good actress, too, as evident in some of the Buffy episodes (especially "The Body").

I remember the WB had some show that was dying very quicky, so in a clearly obvious attempt to get some ratings back, they advertising having Sarah Michelle Gellar coming on the show and kissing one of the female leads ("just like on [b]Cruel Intentions!"). The commercial cracked me up and I meant to check out the show, but didn't. Does anyone remember what show it was?

And while I think she's beautiful, I can understand why she might not be everyone's cup of tea. She's not traditionally pretty, I'm sorry to say. But neither is Angelina Jolie, for example, and so many people find her attractive.

The whole Buffy series started out all right, but I could just never believe in her toughness cred (her ability to kick ass)

GIve it up to her stunt double. She got the choreography down pretty good.

Buffy is her biggest claim to fame, and I just never vibed into what she was supposed to be. And she was just annoying as hell for the rest of the damned series. I liked her supporting cast. Very talented group.
