I've been thinking it since H2O came out. Halloween 3, 4, 5, and 6 took place in alternate universes. Part 3 didn't even have Michael in it and yet its called Halloween "3". It did briefly show a theatrical trailor of the original Halloween-gasp-ALTERNATE UNIVERSE. In H20, Jamie Lee Curtis doesn't even seem to realize she ever had a daughter which according to 4, 5, and 6, she did. Obviously since 4, 5, and 6 did poorly, than the filmmakers have to ignore them, start fresh even though H20 and Resurrection sucked. The same alternate universe even occurs in the Jason films and somewhat in the Freddy films e.g. New Nightmare but it was explained. Jason Takes Manhatten completely ignores its predecessors just like Jason Goes To Hell and Jason X does.
What I'm preaching for is that I'm getting sick of these sequels that ignore the previous ones because they simply sucked. So why make sequels? Because of the fans apparently and thats fine but i think the makers are betraying the fans by ignoring the previous installments. ALTERNATE UNIVERSE, think about it.
